I've asked this elsewhere. Is the cabinetry in the Classic Cherry or ash or some other hard wood finished in Cherry? We did our Bambi II in real Cherry and it was pricy.

It is my understanding based upon posts by owners of 2015 Classics that the wood is solid cherry.

I have a panel of switches and monitors mounted in the closet. As of now, I don't know what all the switches (12V and 120V) will be used for, but I have color coded wires in place. I did assign the orange wire to three very quiet and low amp muffin fans that you'll see up in the fridge vent. Obviously, I took the refrigerator out because the space behind it provides a great space for my solar controller (the monitor is on the panel in the closet). Also, I have installed an ice maker in my freezer...this 9 cu ft model IS available with an ice maker, but not something we could special order. Simple installation, water will come from PEX going to the o/s shower. BTW, removing the fridge is not for the faint hearted, it is the tightest fit you can imagine, which you want, of course, due to the combustion going on behind it -- no leakage into the cabin. I am MORE and MORE impressed with the construction. Everything perfectly sealed and caulked. An important finding. The electrical panel, once unscrewed from its space, was cleverly done. There is about 3 feet of wire tucked behind it, so you can access every single wire you'd ever want to access. This is great news for those who want to do modifications. I finished up the evening by completing installation of a Progressive Industries electrical monitor/surge protector. Took about 2 hours....primarily because that 50 AMP wire is so incredibly hard to work with. It was necessary to unwire the 50 AMP service from the panel and put it into the PI module. Then I took the exact same type of wire (available at Lowes), and ran it from the output side of the module into the A/S main 50 AMP panel. After plugging it in I was gratified to find that my home 50 AMP panel was wired correctly!

Tomorrow I'll be hooking up the Sat TV. Next will be solar. Then the 4 Lifeline 6V's, and the Magnum MSH.

Vacation, anyone??

WOW! Very impressive! We can't wait to see it!

...but has Catherine's Landing recovered from last year's rally???

As you can see from the photos, yes, the Sat TV did get hooked up, and you can see the proof in the shot of my TV screen. Not sure I would have opted for this if i hadn't read a couple of very positive reviews on AF! Cool to watch it motor up off the roof and find the satellite signals.

Completed wiring and test-out of the WiFi Ranger and the Wilson cell amplifier.

Tomorrow, we will fill water tanks and do an overnight shakedown in Charlotte at my son's house. Did this with the last Airstream as well....and TRADITION is important in my family.

Barry:
Did you have to remove the original skylights and measure for David to make the new Maxims, or are the measurements now standard so that you can just order for your model? When we did Maxims on our 2012 Flying Cloud, we had to measure first. We need to start the process to order the Maxims for our 2015. Also, did you replace the Fantastic Fans or do you plan to or not?
Thanks
Tom

They handed me a snifter of brandy when I first posted... And try the foie gras with green onions in duck jus while you're here. It is to die for. I'm starting to like it in this thread...

-Red, hoping he used "snifter" correctly...
