The first night I figured I'd try the Classic's mattress. It has a crease on the bottom made for the power tilting frame. I found it way too soft and mushy for my taste. YMMV
So on the second night I switched them.

I'll never use the tilt feature anyway

I was wondering of those still using their new Classic; your thoughts on cleaning the new woven floor. I use a cordless Dyson for dust and dirt. I was thinking more about cleaning with a mop or wet swifter.
What have you guys been using?

Hey Ron, I'm using the cordless Dyson as well. I am going to try the Swiffer, and will let you know how it works out.

The ever moving production date has moved again. I think this is the third time, but it is easy to lose count. Now set for 21 January....quite a ways from early December. Heard today that there is going to be a price increase once A/S begins accepting new Classic orders. Did have a chance to spend some time in one today....and have a better fix on HOW to do some of the modifications. I guess the wait just increases the excitement.

BAB, hang in there, the date keeps slipping for my parents as well, their unit was due last week now it has been delayed two weeks. I hope yours will be on schedule this time. Mine was delivered a few weeks ago. They are nice. Keep us posted.

Actually, I am more impressed with it after seeing a real production model. (The only other one I saw was a pre-production Classic at Alumapalooza last June.) The fit and finish of the cabinetry is truly awesome. Dealer had the heat pump on and I was amazed that you could actually TALK without shouting (unlike my '12 28' Intl....sounded like a jet engine). Have enough info now to finish up an order for Maxim Skylights, 400W of solar, a couple of Lifeline AGM's....and maybe even a Winegard Trav'lr satellite system.

I hope that they don't raise the price. We haven't ordered ours yet...next month is when we plan to.

Page, the folks at ODM told me that there was going to be a price increase once they started accepting orders again. If you can find a dealer that has a pending order that would probably be the best way to avoid this -- if (in fact) the price increase is reality. Given the high demand -- and obvious production shortfalls -- it wouldn't be surprising to see them do this. The good old law of supply and demand reigns supreme! Barry

Hey Barry, I see that you are in Greensboro and I assume that you have ordered your new Classic from Joel at ODM? I also have one ordered from ODM for spring delivery. I was thinking about changing out the skylights to Maxims, however I have not been able to get any info from ODM on the dimensions. I was curious how you were able to obtain this info? Thanks in advance for any help.

I was given the factory drawing for the skylight frames on our 2014 Classic even before it was built. While doing the solar system installation, we took actual measurements as requested by Maxim. The variance between the drawings and reality would have precluded installation of Maxim skylights based upon the drawing numbers. Even though we had actual measurements, the factory frames were not truly squared up in all the corners and careful grinder use was necessary to complete the install on the rear skylight.

We put the bronze in front and the frosted white in the back and that worked well and the frosted white provides the best reduction in heat gain.

I got up on the roof of a '15 Classic on Tuesday and measured the two skylight curbs very carefully. Also, took a series of measurements before ordering solar panels and a Winegard Trav'lr satellite dish. I do expect to have to move a factory antenna (or two). While I am not big on putting holes on the roof, I had zero issues from all the roof work I did on the '12 Intl....just use the right tools/caulk. Maybe I should buy a CASE of Sikaflex!

Very careful measurements of the units on trailer A have no correlation to the actual measurements on trailer B as these are hand made and poorly at that. Our rear flange was not truly square in all three axis, thus the need to grind on it to get the Maxim to fit over it with the help of a several pound rubber hammer.

I still had the detail from the order I placed for Maxim skylights that I'd ordered for my '12 28' Intl CCD. They were the same size as those I've ordered for the new trailer. More amazing than the lack of anything really square was the quality of the originals. Having said that, getting the old ones off was not all that easy. The butyl tape really held the "Saran Wrap" skylights in place....

Question for you who have the new 2015 Classic. While reviewing the video of the 2015 Classic, my wife and I noticed that they have done away with the pocket doors and replaced them with curtains. The video we watched looked as if one could see through the curtains thus reducing privacy. Is this the case? Thanks ahead of time for the follow up.

Mine hasn't arrived, but I can answer your question. There are two pleated dividers that allow you to separate the trailer .... they are thick enough to provide plenty of privacy. Had the same set-up in my '12 28' Intl CCD....but they were a lighter color. Location is designed to allow you to separate the trailer both in from of and behind the bath, so if you have guests up front you can divide the trailer accordingly.

Mine does not have the Pocket door in the bedroom or hall, and yes it has the folding curtain, however you can not see through it. I am very well pleased with mine, however most of the time I travel alone, except for my parents, and their unit is identical to mine. Personally I like it better than having the pocket door. But I do understand that's a personal preference and others prefer the door.
