2015 Classic 30 - Blind Frustrations

Has anyone figured out how to get the blinds up & down without jiggling them past the window lever knobs?

Yes. I removed all the window knobs and cut them back away from the blinds. I did this from the side with the hole in it. Quite a hassle, as I then had to drill several of the holes that fit onto the window lift bar a bit deeper. While I think my new trailer is absolutely awesome and I couldn't be happier with it, does make me wonder why it was left to me to fix this -- as every other '15 Classic must have the same issue.

Thanks for your info! I understand it exists in most units with folding blinds since at least 2014 models. Go figure

Solved this problem! To the Home Depot store for a length of 1/8 ID clear plastic tubing, cut 20 or so pieces 3/4 inches long. Remove the grey knobs and replace with the tubing. Push the tubing all the way up onto the black rods. We left the red ones on the exit window, seem like the right thing to do.

I took my Dremmel and rounded off the top outer edge to give it a better look and that gave me to clearance for the blind to clear.

This obvious flaw was pointed out to the Airstream leadership team at the feedback session to the Airstream leadership team on 29 June. Hard to believe that with all the Classics out there that nobody has fixed this very annoying defect. I've been on the road for over two weeks now, and even with the shortened lift knobs I still have to be very careful with the blinds. The best approach seems to be to not try and lift both the darkener and blackout at the same time (the fold is somewhat thicker). I predict that there will be some longevity issues with these Oceanair blinds. I really like them but wonder if they are durable enough to hold up. I'll know for sure right before my warranty expires!

The feedback was provided at Alumapalooza. Left that out.

The window blinds are not in a guide when opening or closing so you have to hold it forward a little. It took a few tries but I have rounded to top part off enough where I can open and close both shades at the same time without hitting. So instead of having the upturn on the know I used a dremmil and rounded it off. It has more than enough plastic to do thie without going into the hole. This works for me but might not for everyone.
