Kind of an embarrassing newbie question. Under the pantry in the 23FB there are hot and cold water lines with shutoff valves. On my unit these shutoffs are in the closed position. All hot and cold water functions operate normally with these shutoffs closed..
Does anyone know what these shutoffs are for? I'm assuming they're involved in the winterization process, but ...
Those are the low point drains for hot and cold lines. They are to be open only when draining the system to prepare for circulating antifreeze. Your water system works normal when these are closed. If they are open, you would not get water in the bath or kitchen, well maybe a little. But you would drain you fresh water tank or flood your site in on city water.
