Volando!

Volando (Spanish for flying) ... has arrived home.

We can't say enough positive things about the purchase experience with Foley RV Center. It was well worth our 10 hour drive from Austin, TX to Gulfport, MS to purchase our new 2016 27FB Flying Cloud. I would encourage anyone considering an Airstream purchase to explore purchasing from Foley, the entire process was exceptional. We also had Foley do our hitch setup and went with the Blue Ox. The towing experience back to Austin was great!

To compliment the purchase experience ... it's an interesting area to visit with a number of sites to see and things to do. Following are a few photos of Volando.

Congrats. Just curious as Camper Clinic II is just up the road from you. Did Foley have a better deal or just better feel with dealing with them. I bought my first at CCII but my second at Bayer in Dublin, TX, and would highly recommend them if you have any issues or for anyone else in TX buying an Airstream.

Chuck

I can't say anything positive about Camper Clinic II.

Foley had a much better deal and their customer delivery is really impressive ... the entire experience was amazing ... I honestly cannot recommend they improve on anything. Handling the purchase afar was very simple ... and the day we took delivery ... the experience was exceptional in every aspect.

Congrats on your new trailer. !! Love the white counter tops vs the green. Very tasteful. I have not found camper clinic to have a fair price competive . In fact the older salesperson quoted window sticker on a classic when I visited in May. .he insisted no discount. Les in service was always good and fair when I took old airstream for service Second visit I was greeted by Gavan in sales . He knew his product and followed up with a call. I express my concern to him about price I was quoted on first visit but no one in management has ever called . Thanks for the info on foley. I will Ck them out.

Stopped at Foley on way to CA last January to purchase an Airstream part. I was very impressed with their facility and friendly, helpful staff. Will keep them on our short list!!

Hi JC. Wish I could give you some positive feedback on CCII ... but it seems we have yet to experience the positive. Actually they did have a good salesman last year that we purchased the 22 ft. Sport from ... but he has since left CCII.

So I guess you are in the market for an Airstream? I do know of a used late model 27 FB twin model that is owned by an individual and priced very well.

Can we talk some more about the IKEA Blinds?

Now that I've spent many nights in my 22fb with all the mods I've made only one of them is nagging me and that has to be with the "mini blinds" at the head and bottom of the bed. It's a pain to lift the mattress to get at the underbed storage and having it catch on the "mini blind" bottom bracket holders. It's just a matter of time before they either wear a hole in the mattress or simply break off. So I'm looking really hard at replacing these two blinds with the IKEA. But I need some reinforcement.

For any of you all that have installed the IKEA blinds in the BR area would you mind posting a picture of what the top of the blind looks like installed above the window and another picture of what your using to hold the bottom tab in place?

Thanks
Pat

This is the only photo I could locate of the IKEA roller shades after I installed them in the bedroom area of our 22 Sport. Since we sold it I don't have access to run take more photos ... or I would. Hope this helps you with your decision ... one way or the other. I will tell you that I was completely happy with the results of installing the IKEA roller shades. The fit nicely against the wall and mattress worked perfectly with them. I used the 3M product as follows to clip the shades closely to the wall.

Thank you Lisa. I'm finding it a little more challenging with finding ideas for the 27' ... but I did some poking around inside the Airstream while camping this weekend exploring some ideas.
