I watched the Official Andersen youtube and saw no mention of tape applied to the leveler.

There is no need for "traction" between the tire and the leveler. Traction is a mean of defining the interaction between two surfaces that are moving against each other, ie tire to ground. There is no movement between the leveler and the tire or the leveler and the ground.

The only thing I can imagine might be if you are on soft ground the chock might have a tendency to fly out from under the leveler as it is pushed into the ground. Is that the surfaces they mention in the video?

I guess if you switch to tandem 16" rims/tires you'll have to trim them to make them work?

No trimming was required with our 16" wheels on a 27' EB. I don't know if the wheel spacing could be different on other models, making things a tighter fit. Joe

Ok - so instead of using the word "traction" try this instead....for just a couple dollars you can get peace of mind if you think there may be issues with tire slippage on the smooth plastic surface. And of course this is not a manufacture recommended application and I am no engineer but I am fairly certain that in no way does adding grip tape to these devices adversely effect their usage for those of you that do not feel that it is necessary.

Thanks for both your video and your responses to my question about "traction". Based on the minimal cost of adding the 3M tape to the levelers, I'm going to "take the plunge" and add it to my levelers. I certainly appreciate all of the input that I've received to my question.

I have never once needed to put grip tape on my levelers and we camp on all types of surfaces since we live in our Airstream. But I'm sure it won't hurt either.

Our Andersen Levelers arrived just as the snow began here in Michigan. I guess we are going to have to wait for either a thaw or next season!

I'm looking forward to not carrying the "lumberyard" of ramp sections I had built.

We had a nice enough weekend here in SE Michigan to go out. We are at the Algonac State Park camping in 25 degree weather!

With our 2014 Flying Cloud 30, the levelers work great! What used to take 10 minutes, now takes 1. We were leveled in no time.

Using the Andersen Levelers and the X-chocks, this is the fastest we have ever been able to level. Why didn't we get these sooner?!?!

We have really enjoyed our Anderson levelers. So far they are durable and have done the trick. The only slight issue I have had is when packing up to go, I have to back onto them a bit more to release the pressure on the chock. These levelers have made my leveling experience much better!

We've only used ours once and that was on a pea gravel pad so they sank some. But they were easy to use and we were level pretty quickly. My wife even picked them up fast.

I have used these for the last year and a half and never had them slip. Probably a total of 80 uses. Plenty of room on both my 25FC and 28FC. Just put 16" wheels and tires on the 28 and they are a little tighter between the tires, but they fit by basically jamming them in under the tire a little more. I love these as I can basically look at my level initially and I know by how far off I am, how much I need to pull onto the levelers. I pretty much hit it first time every time. Great accessory. I have had to use once with a couple of lynx blocks on ground as we were in a very uneven site. Still worked fine.

I'm purchasing a 2014 FC 23 FB, 14 inch tires. I have an anderson leveler that I used on my Bambi, but curious--do I need another for the double axle, using 2 of them, or is it OK to just use one under one tire and let the other wheel hang in the air.

Actually...just reading my own words I think I know the answer, but I'll send it anyway. If I need two, will I need to cut them down to fit?

Buy another. You might have to trim a bit off one. I would wait and see before doing the surgery.

The need to trim is a function of the ground you are parked on. Flat concrete or asphalt is not the place to check if trimming is necessary. If you are on soft ground or on grass they may lift the leveler just enough to make it hard or impossible to slip the leveler in place.

Trim one before you travel and be ready for the unexpected.

Here is the LevelMatePRO unit installed in the closet of our 27' EB. It connects by BT to your phone even while your driving, so you can evaluate the levelness of sites on the fly, as well as when you drive up on leveling blocks or rollers. It graphically indicates on your phone not only which way your AS is leaning, but by how many inches. All this can be accomplished with exterior physical levels, but I find this device little easier, particularly when traveling alone. Joe
