Uh Oh...Traded our 19' FC for a 25' FC

We just got back from our 4th trip in our 19' FC (Maxwell). What a great time at Priest Lake, in the National Park Campground at Outlet Bay. No Services but we were prepared to dry camp for the first time and stress the systems. The camp sites were big with lots of trees and the lake is huge. We had our trusty Golden Retriever with us for the fun. It rained a bit, then it hailed, then it cloud burst and thundered. We were nice and dry in our little haven, wet dog and all.

We bought the Bambi new in 2014 as a trailer the our Nissan Pathfinder could tow. But after a few trips, I didn't like the braking and the dog had to go outside to change her place for her get comfortable. So we broke the bank last year and bought a F150 with max towing. Maxwell towed very nicely, all snugged into the back of the full sized PU. And the owners had lots of great creature comforts for the trip. Wait, look, the dog even had her own full lounge seat in the back! Nice!

Back to our trip. Here we sat with our French-press coffee talking over how we could ever go for 3 weeks or more in this small of a space. I had to resort to sleeping on the dinette to give us both more room but this caused the dog to move from her spot under the table. We had learned the dance....when one person cooks, the other goes outside. When on showers, the other sits at the dinette or, goes outside. When one person dresses or brushed their teeth, the other ...well you get the image. It was tight. We sat their talking when I slipped in the idea of maybe, just maybe we should look at the 25' FC front bedroom with twins. I read that they had way more room for only 6 feet more! This I cautiously told my bride, my first love, the Queen, She Who Must Be Obeyed. Her lower lip tightened and I quickly learned many different ways to convey the word NO without saying it.

But alas, I kept up the vigil and when it came time to return to the dealer to fix a few items in the 19', I made sure my CFO came with me. After we dealt with the service dept., we made our way over the new trailers. Then there it was, shimmering in the morning sun, a vision of silver that gleamed from across the lot....a 25' Flying Cloud, Front Bedroom Twin! Aaahhh.....! I led my one-and-only over and let her climb in and spend time meeting this wonderful composition of classic styling with modern comforts. She began to imagine where things would go, what we could store, how much we could store, how the dance would work and then there, in her eyes, I saw she was as hooked as I.

It didn't take long to work the trade (glad we had an Airstream) and sign the papers. We will take deliver the first of September. Now I need to plan our multi-week trip! How Fun!

Funny. I enjoyed the story, well written. Congrats on the new Airstream. So many campgrounds in the PNW and not enough time.

Great Story! We did something similar. We bought a 2001 Safari 25 RB Twin in 2014. It had been modified to replace the sofa with recliners. It was great for us, but not so much for socializing, and we had to eat off of TV trays as it had no dinette. Enter the 2002 Classic 30 Slideout. In our case, however, I wanted a 28 and DW wanted a 30. It wasn't hard to get me to go 30.

Enjoy and lets see some pictures in September!
