Twin bed issues in 26u
I mentioned this in a previous post, but the mattresses on our twins are wider than the wooden support-3" on one side and 3 1/2" on the other side. I called AS and was told that they are designed that way! I went to home depot and bought 2 pieces of poplar 1/2' x 6" x 4'. They had 6' but they were almost twice as much. I rounded off the front corner toward the aisle to minimize bumped shins. I mounted them so that 2 3/4" would hang off the edge of the bed frame. I used #6 x 1" countersunk screws. While at the Depot, I also bought two carpet anti-slip pads that were 2'x 8' and trimmed to fit.
I was almost done when I noticed that the streetside plywood was not supported about 18" from the head of the bed. Apparently, it is supposed to sit on top of the partition between the rear compartment and the streetside compartment. It was cut a little short! I screwed a 1/2" x 1" strip on the partition and it fixed the problem.
I can scratch two more items off the list!! Pictures to follow.
