I've watched some videos of Tundra 5.7, Ford Ecoboost, and Chevy 5.3. The Ecoboost honestly performed better, but I wonder about long term reliability of the twin turbos. Holler at me in 200,000 miles, 300,000 miles, or 400,000 miles. Are the turbos in diesels reliable for the long haul? Or is there an expensive rebuild at 200,000-300,000 miles?

The truck is 55,500lbs and 43500 on the trailer,I did look at the above utube of the 1500 hemi 5.7 ? I would have a hard time running a loaded engine up a 7 o/o grade, driving like that would really shorten the life of everything, I still like the 1500 rpm cummins......

Here is a picture of another Corvette towing 23 Airstream. It was too much for the springs, pushing each end down by3/4 ".

The placard states that the total weight of cargo and passengers is 388# IIRC.

It did tow very nicely, however.

Some big truck turbos will go a million miles some don't.

Sometimes they fail in a spectacular manner....

My bet is not 1% of the current variable vane turbos used in light trucks will last anywhere near a million miles.
