Screwed our 26u today
After reading the posts about doors and cabinets falling off on rough roads,I thought it appropriate to check all the interior fasteners after about 3000 miles on our trailer. I was pleased at what I found, or didn't find. The only screws that were really loose were the ones holding the screen door protective panels. All 8 were very loose. There were 3 hinge screws on the overhead doors that had been over tightened and stripped. Putting a toothpick in the hole allowed me to snug them down. There were also 3 screws holding interior compartment trim with the same problem. Same fix. Also found one latch that is not securely latching (the one under the fridge). I had already thought about ordering some spares.
It was a good day-didn't break anything!

If more people carried out regular preventive maintenance inspections there would less for people to complain about here.

I've had similar experience after close to 14k miles. Screen door guard & a few cabinet door hinges needed tightening. We own well built products!

A great way to serif fan Airstreamer's OCD:
Obtain a similar screw to those in his AS. Booger up the head just a little so it looks used. Run it into s board part way, then carefully pull it out with a prybar to leave some wood in the threads.
Visit or tour their AS, and when they are not looking, set the prepared screw in the vicinity of any furniture in the AS. A corner of a countertop will do.
Wait until they find the 'loose screw' and watch the ensuing frantic search for its rightful home.
Hm. On second thought, that's almost too cruel....😇

Boogers! That would be intense. In my case I would just put it in the drawer with the rest of them.

Most times I've been able to find where an errant screw came from. I've only had a couple back out. Finding where they came from took quite a while.
The joke is a rewrite of an old one from a boating magazine, btw. In that one the delivery was to toss the prepared screw into the victims sail so it slides down and falls on deck. Loose hardware on a boat is even more concerning. It usually means something is about to come apart.

I, too, had a latch fall apart to the metal door under the fridge. I glued a couple magnets to the door and it works perfectly.

A few well placed pop-rivet heads will achieve the same level of stress.

When I replace screws I ALWAYS fill the hole with glue and then turn the screw in so far they've all stayed .

I will admit to a somewhat warped sense of humor, but I don't think I'm actually evil, but that's merely opinion....

I ordered a replacement latch today and a couple of spares. Gretchen, in Customer Service, offered to send them free of charge. She is also sending a couple of 10# pull latches. It was very nice of her to do so.
