Questions on 23FB models.

Greetings,

We have 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 3.6 Liter V6 gas engine. It is equipped with the factory tow package and rated at 6200lb tow capacity and 620 TW. We are looking at the 23FB models. Is anyone here towing one of these with a vehicle that has a similar tow capacity?

Was also wondering is the walk around bed is truly walk around?

I have a 23FB. I tow with a 1/2 ton pickem-up-truck. So I can't say on the Jeep question.

The Queen bed says walk around but... If you use 1 leg on the floor and the other knee on the bed, while ducking under the Tele, hunching over to avoid getting hung up on the emergency latches, then duck under the overhead cabinets in front,you can make it around.

It's easier to just climb over the bed and over your partner to get in and out or to the other side.

That is why we just converted to twins!

Plus it is much easier to make the beds.

We tow this trailer with a 6000/600 rated medium-sized SUV, and are pleased with the towing performance. Our diesel six has a bit higher torque rating than your Jeep V6, but comparable horsepower.

When towing with a medium sized SUV, please make sure your get a good weight distribution hitch, and try not to overpack your tow vehicle's rear cargo compartment.

You may have more than 620 tongue weight with that trailer if you put any cargo in it. Max of 6000 lbs trailer weight with say at least 10% on the ball plus 50-100 lbs for a hitch puts you well over.

So you can probably tow it home empty, but you can't take it anywhere and have fun with it unless you are a minimalist.

You may be a bit short on capability with your GC. I tow our FC23FB with a 2014 EcoDiesel GC and find it more than capable. Great, actually. However, the diesel has 7200 lb tow rating and 720 lb tongue rating. Search my posts for performance details. The actual tongue weight of the FC23FB is higher than the brochure states. My tongue weight in camping mode is 785 lbs. Add your particular hitch weight to that. Mine with an equalizer hitch comes to 876 lbs. which is over my 720 lbs stated tongue capacity, but has proven to be no problem in over 20,000 miles of travel.
