Our first ever RV was a 2013 25FB International Serenity purchased while I was out of the country over the phone. After the deal was done, I found out about the, for us, issues with the cross frame queen bed.

We wanted an in line with the frame bedding situation and initially settled on a Classic 27FB with twin beds for the storage and a useful dressing area as the replacement for the 25FB. The dinette area was the same measurements and layout as the 25FB. More talks and the 27FB became a Classic 30 with twin beds.

We had to upgrade the tow vehicle as my 2007 Mercedes ML320 CDI was legal weight wise coming home from the dealership new and empty with the 25FB, but was overloaded when ready to camp. Our replacement tow vehicle could probably safely handle a 34' Classic (11,500 pounds GVW) if they made them again.

While our Classic 30 started production on 20 December, the factory closed for the holiday at the end of the day and resumed operations on 2 January. The blizzard at the end of that week completely disrupted the just in time inventory parts deliveries and our unit is still in the production mode come Monday, 20 January, because a few small items are still on backorder.

I went from a 16 foot bass boat to a 30 foot airstream - no biggie

Your calculus regarding length choice should be based on other criteria other than generally feeling it is too long for comfort - instead - weight - length restrictions - price - tow vehicle restrictions - storage restrictions - personal comfort - storage -etc

Don't be stressed about length I say - good luck

How about coming to Alumalina end of March at Wateree SP SC and join the fun. We have about 52 sites filled with Airstreams. The event is listed in forums. Good eats and a lot of trailers and opinions.

We love our 27FB with the walk-around queen bed. Plenty of room to walk around, plenty of storage if you travel light...though I acknowledge we're not full-timers.

Twin setup is a good choice. Consider getting up to go to the bathroom and having to climb over the spouse. The twin avoids that and is easier to make the bed.
