New Owners in North Carolina

After much research and input by members of this forum, we bought our new 2013 Flying Cloud 25 RB, Twin. We were working on a purchase of a 2014, but could not pass the 2013 up.

Thanks to those of you who gave us great input on towing weight, hitches, tires, anf inverters.

We pick up on Friday and will do a 3 day test at a nearby campground.

Again, thanks, and hope to see some of you at rallies/camp ins, etc.

Still learning my way around this forum, so if there is a better place to post our newbie status, let me know.

Congratulations on your new trailer.
I'm sure you will have years of enjoyment.
The twin bed model is awesome for walk around room and storage.
Have you signed up for Alumilina?

Time to schedule your first rally

Congratulations on your new adventure. Now it is time to come and meet some of the folks from the Carolinass and beyond who enjoy aluminum. Check out the Alumalina thread below. John is an amazing host as is evidenced by the number of rigs already signed up for the March gathering. The last I heard there were on about 8 spots left in the whole campground.

Congrats and welcome to another NC owner! We had the same issue in that we were going to wait until 2014 but ran across a very lightly used 2012 that we could not pass up. So we have had some days using it that we never would have had with the original, more logical, plan.

Welcome to the Airstream lifestyle from a fellow North Carolina Airstream owner. I hope you enjoy your purchase as much as we've enjoyed the 2008 Safari we bought two years ago.

As Chillpoints indicated, please attend independent Alumalina Rally in late March 2014 at Lake Wateree, South Carolina and meet a number of your fellow North and South Carolina Airstreams as well as a few outside the area who like to camp with us.

If by any chance you can head south to Santa Rosa Beach in the panhandle of Florida the weekend of January 10-12, 2014 the Canopener 2014 rally at Topsail Hill Preserve State Park will be a great event attracting Airstreamers from all over the US and sometimes Canada. Here's a link to the Canopener thread: http://www.airforums.com/forums/f288...-a-100346.html

If you can make either of these great events I suggest you make reservations now as both campgrounds are booking up.

Another great Airstream camping experience in the region when the weather warms up is the Virginia Highland Haven Airstream Park in Copper Hill, Virginia (between Roanoke and Floyd). This Airstream only campground, with 46 sites set on a ridge line in the Blue Ridge Mountains, is a perfect retreat and great place to meet other Airstream enthusiasts. The park's season runs May 1 to October 15. Link to the website: http://www.vahighlandhaven.org

Again, welcome to our community.

Congratulations on your new purchase. My wife and I are looking at the exact same setup. I am most interested in how your truck handles it. Our truck is almost same specs as yours. Thanks in advance…...

Congratulations on your purchase and welcome to Airstreaming.

Be careful in visiting with other Airstreamers as aluminitius is contagious.
