There are 3 primary sources of legitimate ads, and E-Bay has a number of trailers listed with a much higer probability of Fraud.. Lots of threads here linking fraudulent E-Bay ads where pictures of someone else's trailer and attractive "Buy it now" price tied to phony payment and delivery processes.. Most recommend against buying any trailer on E-Bay you haven't seen and touched and verified ownership...
The other sources are:
1. Classifieds here - usually with photo's and moderated to pull down frauds pretty fast..
2. RV Trader Online.. Over 500 new and used Airstream trailers listed, many by dealers with internet price offers.. See:
Rvs And Motorhomes For Sale - Rv Trader
3. Craigslist.. Also prone to questionable ads, but some great bargains to be had. You can expand search geography by using "searchtempest.com" to specify distance from home location...
If you are searching for new models only, then there are roughly half a dozen large dealerships with national internet ad programs and pricing.. Dealer in Ohio, Colonial in NJ, Toscano's and Sutton on west coast are among some of the larger dealers.. While there is a trade-off between warranty service from local selling dealer and price, at least for used Airstreams, the market is really national, and buyers are willing to travel 500 or 1,000 miles or more to purchase and bring home their Airstream..
