Interesting mods on FC30?
Just picked up our 2014 FC30 that is a replacement for our totaled 27FB. Wondering what mods some of you have done on this floor plan.
First on my list will be maximizing usable space in the pantry.
I have the sofa option and that will change to recliners.
I have given a quick look at rearranging the dinette by taking the forward seat and putting it against the wall making a L shaped dinette with a freestanding table.
Let's see your mods!
Thanks!

On floor plan, we removed the rear section of the L shape sofa and replaced with a Best Home Furnishings "Felicia" small powered Loveseat. Fits perfectly. The 'straw' vinyl matches the Cashew perfectly.
I resited one of the wardrobe LED lights to the upper shelf. The upper part was always dark.
Otherwise we enjoy the 30' layout very much.

New recliner sofa installed, Best Furniture "Bodie" in banana leather. Nice fit, comfortable and the color is as close as you could possibly find.
3" Dexter lift installed.
Full size queen mattress installed (makes the clearance kind of tight but worth it imho.)
modified shelving in "pantry " still fine tuning.

Sheriff, could you add pics of your pantry and how much room you have after the mattress was changed? Any more mods? We are picking up a new FC30 after our International 23D was written off (hail). It will be a big change for us.

Sheriff,Thanks so much! Your mods are wonderful. Isn't it funny that we are both in the same situation --hail damaged Airstreams? I'll miss that big pantry in the 23, but your pantry mods have made the smaller pantry much more usable. Have you noticed any issues with the glides and the weight of the new pantry? You are the first person to show an image of what it looks like behind the microwave. We will also be removing ours and turning that area into a pot drawer or cupboard as you have done. Since we mostly dry-camp, we will have to use the gas oven. We will be picking ours up in a month. Can't wait!

Sheriff, this is a wild goose chase, but do you still have the original microwave you removed? We have a 30’ as well with the microwave missing but she wants the microwave back in the original space and the P.O. did not save it. I’ll pay you for it and pay you to ship it to me if you still have it!

Al,
How long do these lift kits take to install?

Sorry, microwave is long gone.
The Dexter lift kit I installed was for #11 axles. It took me about 6 hours to install but this is the third one I have installed in the last four years so I’m familiar with how to do it. I also have the proper tools. At my age I hope that was the last one I install!

FC 30 Mods
I have the same Model except it came with the recliners. I added the following:
1. Shelf in back cabinet below hanging closet.
2. Mirror inside center closet door
3, Reversed the bathroom door so it opens from the left
4. Hooks in bedroom and bathroom to hang hats, etc
5. USB and 12 Volt charger in front credenza with a switch to turn on and off.

Dittos on the tail dragging.
It also seems my step, even retracted, loves to drag on curbs. Another reason to lift it a bit.

Tail dragging... yup, understand. My 2015 Serenity 30RB had this same issue, but I think when I changed to the 16" wheels this raised it about 1/3", reducing the problem a small bit.
I had considered a pair of micro rollers for the tail, about $100 plus welding on.

I understand the rollers are a bad idea on Airstreams because of the frame- body design. They promote frame separation.
