We installed a Magnum MSH-3012 hybrid inverter with our solar system. It will augment battery power with the Honda 2000 power output to start the air conditioner at proper voltage. The Honda 2000 will easily run the air conditioner once it is running.

The idle speed sounds right to me . Anyone know where the idle adjustment is? I used high quality ethanol free fuel so I don't think that's it.

The manual does not show this FYI:

http://cdn.powerequipment.honda.com/...s/31Z07610.pdf

But on p. 54 it does show the way to drain the carb for storage, as was discussed earlier (maybe on another thread?).

Next time you are near a Honda repair shop, you could drop it off for a warranty look-see.

PS -- YouTube seems to have lots of good videos on Honda generators, maybe there is an answer there?

Just ordered two GenConnex propane only conversion kits for our pair of Honda 2,000 watt generators. We have a spare 30 pound propane tank that could drive both units at the same time. They are coming with the hose kit to allow one or both to operate off of the single tank.

Also got the hose kit to tie into the propane outlet on the front of an Airstream.

Be careful not to break the limiter stop....very little adjustment, factory set.

2000i idle speed

Thanks Bob that's good to know. I have been doing a lot of research on this and it appears that the amount of vibration that my new honda is having is probably normal in the eco mode. I ran it for a few hrs today with a small heater plugged in and all went well. Thanks again for the help. Rand

That's what I did; however, you lose the 12vdc capability when it comes time to boost or charge a battery ...

The 12 volt capability is pretty worthless anyway. Puts out a very small amperage. You're better of using a proper battery charger and the honda 120V plug.
