Most 2000 watt generators are rated at 1600 watts continuous. That's about 13.3 amps.

if you had both the Honda 2000i and the Companion.....and you were going to sell one, would you sell the 2000i or the companion.....both have same number of hours.

I'm thinking of keeping the companion because of the plug....what are your opinions?

I was at a KOA park in Pa. this summer second day there the voltage coming in dropped to 108 volts and the same time I noticed that the A/C became louder with more vibration. They sent a tech to check it out, he also got the same reading and blamed the power co. We moved to a new campground voltage at 120 and the A/C went back to its normal sound and the vibration went away. So the A/C will run on low power but I can see that long term it would most likely cause damage. The manual does mention using proper voltage and amperage. Having said all that I have a Honda 2000 on the way as I write this there is a $100 instant rebate till the end of Dec. $899.00 I don't plan on needing the A/C in areas that I boon dock but time will tell if I do end up needing A/C I'll buy a second unit. Good camping all Rand

Thinking of getting the Honda 2000 from Amazon, $899. 12 mo free interest with their credit card.

Anyone order from Amazon. Was it shipped without damage?

Try Mayberrys. Especially if you plan to get the companion. They sell a combo kit for $100 less than the two at Amazon. The combo kit at Mayberrys includes parallel cables. I think you have to pay separate for them at Amazon. Which of course even increases the savings on Mayberrys' combo kit. Which of course further increases the savings on their combo kit.

Right now the price is $899 for the EU200 at both sites. The combo deal is much better at Mayberrys.

Two years ago Mayberrys had a huge sale on the EU2000 and I didn't pull the trigger. It was $799. I've never seen them listed that low. So if you have the time this winter, before you buy, check them out every week or two.

I bought a Honda 2000 with the assumption that it would NOT run my a/c. The idea was that, when dry camping it would charge the batteries, run the TV and satellite receiver and the non-convection microwave in my FC 27. It does all that just fine. If I found a need for the a/c when dry camping, I planned to buy the "companion" unit. Given that I'm doing a lot of cold weather camping and the ability to run the furnace is "mission critical," the ability to recharge the battery is also essential. The Honda has done fine, even at high altitudes and low temperatures. I can also say that Yosemite and the south rim of the Grand Canyon are spectacular in the early winter, before deep snow hits.

We were dry camping in Anza Borrego State Park last weekend. I was concerned about having adequate battery power to run the furnace since night time Temps can dip into the 30s. This was our first dry camping trip with the AS. The eu2000 was great to charge up the batteries a few hours at a shot. I was quite pleased. Especially since I've had the eu2000i in my garage for 5 years with no reason to break it out.

Just got my new honda 2000i took a few pulls first time starting to prime but starts first pull after that. Runs very smooth off eco mode but vibrates a fair amount on eco mode. Is this normal? Thanks for any info. Rand

Mine don't vibrate in "Eco" mode.

Idle may be set too low. They'll vibrate and run roughly if that's the case.

Never had any vibration in Eco mode in 5 years. Bad gas maybe contributing in addition to low idle suggestion?

We installed a Magnum MSH-3012 hybrid inverter with our solar system. It will augment battery power with the Honda 2000 power output to start the air conditioner at proper voltage. The Honda 2000 will easily run the air conditioner once it is running.

The idle speed sounds right to me . Anyone know where the idle adjustment is? I used high quality ethanol free fuel so I don't think that's it.
