We've been transporting our generator in the bed of the truck but would really like to secure it to our Flying Cloud 27FB. My research has come up with almost no options for mounting the generator on the AS. I recently watched the video on how to install the Fiamma Carry-Bike bike rack to the rear of the AS. In the video it said the rack has a 77 lbs capacity. My 2000 watt generator weighs less than 50 lbs. I can visualize a solution where a platform is secured to the bike wheel channels on the rack and the generator bolted to the platform. The weight would be within the rack capacity. I'm looking for feedback on this idea or a better solution if one is out there.
I had figured on the bed of the truck but concerned about theft. I guess you have a camper shell and route the exhaust out of the truck somehow or do you just have an open bed?
The rear bumper allegedly flexes / shakes quite a bit. I've also thought about bumper mount by welding a bracket up to bolt on to the frame extensions that support the bumper. On the rest of the "trunk" area there is no support and I don't favor attaching anything to the aluminum shell either. A generator bracket would need to be positioned above the trunk so it could open. In that back position there would be the generator noise to contend with as well.
I suppose I could also build a sound deadening box to put it in for weather and theft protection.
I guess you can just barely run the air and lights with 2000 watts?

You might want to consider the vibration output from the generator if mounted on the trailer.

Airrogant - We've seen this mount before. It restricts access to batteries and front cargo compartment on our 27FB - too much of a compromise for us. This is the only mount I've seen out there.
SilverEagle6 - Yep vibration could be an issue over time. Mitigating it with dense foam (or similar material) between the generator and platform might work.
