Folding counter extension

Does the folding counter extension for the single sinks only come on the 25' trailers? I haven't found it on any 23C or D models but seems to be on 25. Would like to stay at 23 but I love to cook and that little extra space would be helpful to me.

No, you won't find extensions on any 23 model.

The double sink covers do provide additional counter space, and when those are in use, I've used the table, which is directly across the cook top.

We have a 23-foot with the L-lounge and felt the same way about the desirability of the folding counter extension. So, also wanting to stay sort-of original, we ordered one from Airstream with the matching laminate. If you do this, be sure to ask that the hinges not be attached, because you may need to locate them differently than the factory might. Not cheap (about $180) but it looks original and we love having it.

Ditto for us. Ordered from AS in original laminate, installed my self. Looks and works great to give just a little more room for drying dished, etc.

We added our own folding counter extension in the form of a cutting board and folding mounting brackets from Rockler Woodworking. (Total cost less than $60.)

How do you clean it? A friend used to run his under hot water and let vinegar set on it now and then depending on what it had been used for.

using this board as a "drawer cover" extension can also work because it has the drip channel that would keep stuff from going into the drawer. It's quick setup & cleanup - and the board is removable to dump stuff into bowls, etc.

We don't typically use our folding counter extension as a cutting board per se. We use it as a counter extension, especially when eating inside the trailer during inclement weather. If you click on the photo in my post #5 above, you will see that the 23' trailer with lobster sink comes with a large round white plastic cover that can be used as a cutting board. On top of that we placed a large tray (handy to bring food out to the campground picnic table during nice weather). On top of that is our bamboo cutting board.

Actually, the cutting board that we use most is a flexible plastic chopping board from Ikea (which is easily cleaned)!

This modification posting led to my decision to mount one of these folding tables on the back of our dinette so that my wife has a convenient spot to place her computer or other projects she is working on while sitting on the couch. The wood concealed by the upholstery material on the back of the dinette is strong enough to hold the table. She picked out a $20 12" x 18" bamboo cutting board from Target for the table surface and I ordered the folding shelf brackets from Amazon for $18. So for a total investment of $38 we have a very functional work surface that folds down whenever it is not needed. I will post a photo as soon as the brackets arrive and I have mounted it.

Saw you mention the white plastic cover that goes over the sink. I figured I could leave on the sink while traveling. It bounced off and onto the floor. Has that happened to you? Now I lay it on the bed when we travel.

The cover and additional trays stay on the bed while traveling. This permits other items, such as plastic pitchers, mugs, and a coffee pot to travel safely in the sink. The cover stays off when arriving home to permit any moisture in the sink to dry!

I want to add an extender counter in a Bambi 2006 19', any ideas? I can't just fold one out, because the cushions are in the way. I need it to go up(clear the cushions) then fold down flat. (actually would be resting partly on the cushions). sub
