extremely uncomfortable sofa or couch

I have a 2010 Flying Cloud purchased new in Jan 2011....front entry.
The sofa which converts to a bed is in the entry end of the trailer. It is ridiculously uncomfortable being the only real seating for "lounging" in the trailer.
Has anyone had the same experience and have you found a solution???

There is lots of threads about converting over to a double recliner situation, or something similar... In most cases these conversions have NOT been done on a 28' as it have a lot of stuff under the "L" part of your sofa. (IE: hot water tank, convertor/charger, Woofer, and inverter). These items are very hard to move or hide so doing a conversion to either a recliner sofa and recliners themselves is going to be very hard to do.

I looked into this with the Service Centre folks at the factory and they felt it would be very hard to achieve a conversion that we would be happy with. That said, I don't think this issue is dead - its just a lot harder to do a conversion on the 28' than it is on other models.
Hope this helps

Cheers
Doug

We have the 30 foot with a jackknife couch/bed in the front made by Flexsteel. We took it into our local upholsterer and had him add an inch or so of extra foam on the couch bottom. The only problem with this is when it's laid down into a bed, it's a little uneven. But we rarely have a guest that needs to use it as a bed.

L-Lounge

We have a 23 foot Safari and the L-lounge is on the right as you enter the AS. It pulls out to make a bed. Yes it's uncomfortable or was uncomfortable. We had the foam in the seat cushions replaced with a firmer-denser foam and all of the cushions recovered with a more durable fabric. It's made a huge difference. Looking into what it would take to get the arm rests of the L-lounge redone to make them softer.

Replace the foam in your cushions

The stock foam used by airstream in the cushions is pretty low end. Try replacing the foam with some firmer material and see if that helps (we did.) If this works, it's a whole lot cheaper than replacing furniture!!
