Dumb question...not a owner yet.

Hi,
Looking at FC25 , used. I'm getting to know the slight differences in year models. I plan on removing the dinette area for two recliners and making a two person dining area along the couch wall.

My question on some years (can't remember which) there is a black metal looking grill under the end of the couch. Sometimes I see it under the end of the bed. What is it?

Thanks.

Mike

I'd say the converter. Mine haven't been black but dark brown.

Now I was told it is
Cover for electric circuit breakers, both AC and DC.

Anyone know how deep it goes under the bench? As stated my plan is the make a seat above it but turned 90degrees to what the bench is now.

Here's our conversion from start to finish on a 2012 Flying Cloud 25' Rear Bed model. This will not work on a Front Bed model because the furnace is located under the long bench.

There is not enough space here for a dinette and recliners, but you could build a seat over the converter/charger rather than a cabinet like we did. The street side recliner could serve as the opposite dinette seating. We choose to build a storage cabinet instead over the converter/charger.

This will work on a 2012 or 2013 Rear Bed Airstream, in 2014/2015 and later I think they moved the converter/charger to where our folding table rests.

We just purchased a 2016 25' Rear Bedroom. The converter and circuit breakers/fuses are the box. It's about 10 inches in depth if that. It's about 20 inches from the front of the trailer. Hope that helps!

Indeed, they did move the converter/charger ahead on the new models, I wonder why. On our 2012 it is located right next to the fridge.

Probably because it is closer to the batteries...
