Our 2012 30ft Flying Cloud ran us out with smoke alarms blaring at first lighting. It took a hour of furnace burn time to correct the fumes/alarm.

Additionally, both the 13500 and the 15000 btu Dometic A/C, Heat Pump units blew their compressors at 1 hr and 10 hour of run time respectively. Dometic denies anything wrong. JC would not say much, but did admit that I was not the only owner of new unit to have the A/C fail right away.

After this double failure I would recommend running the heck out of any 2012 unit to be sure any failures happen sooner and on warrantee.

He ran the heck out of it while he was up here, no change. The coach now sits at the dealer in Phoenix to figure it out, after Sutton in Oregon and JC could not. He is now at the end of his rope with a fresh coach he cannot even travel in! I don't blame him, I would have freaked out a lot sooner. He promised to send a e-mail as to what happened, will be in touch with the forum as to the results. If I was AS, that furnace would have been jerked and replaced long ago.

First time I ran my furnace last fall it kicked off my alarms and the smell ran us out of the trailer. I opened all the windows and cranked the fans on and let it run full bore for a couple hours and it cleared out. Ran it that night without a problem. I'd blame mine on oils or some kind of buildup on the furnace. Doesn't sound like that's their problem. I didn't have that kind of haze. Hope they figure it out.

My dealer ran my furnace for a full night with the vents open before turning the trailer over to me. They refilled the propane bottles in the morning, so it was on their propane. I never had any new furnace smell after taking delivery.

Usually, first time it is used in the fall, there is a short-lived smell as dust is burned off, but it is very brief and there has never been visible smoke.

I've not heard from the owner yet. He assured me he'd let me know what AS in Phoenix found. If it was carbon monoxide, why did the alarm not go off? I'm still perplexed why all three of us felt dizzy only in the rear of the coach.

I heard from him just now. AS approved replacing the furnace (waay late after going back to the dealer and the mother ship). They are happy campers again, and I look forward to seeing them up here or down at Ajo.
