Clogged shower drain

Any ideas for quick fix? I have a 2014 19’ flying cloud. Can I try some basic drano? Jackson center says I can get access to trap through a panel underneath, but that’s outside of my skill area...and their first appointment is November! Thanks!

I would advise against Drano as that introduces Lye, a caustic into the situation. Have you tried a plunger, have you looked for a hair plug in the drain. Have you brought in a garden hose to see if a stronger water flow pushes the plug? Just things to consider before you go to chemicals which can create their own special set of problems.
Another consideration is to go to your local Ace Hardware and get a very think snake designed for sinks to get to the trap?

Good luck!! And trust in your ability to learn new skills with your trailer....the instructions from Jackson Center may help you along that path.

Better to use something to get the clog out rather than something which will put the clog in your greywater tank. Most clogs are due to hair accumulations and they can hang up on your drain valve if they make their way to the tank. I found that out the hard way!

Shower clogs are usually in the P-trap area and can be pulled up out of the drain with the proper tool. Try searching in Amazon for "drain snake" and you will find many possibilities. I have been very happy with the Drain Millipede (https://www.amazon.com/FlexiSnake-Dr...gateway&sr=8-3).

Hair buildup in the strainer can be removed with needle nose pliers.
If the strainer is not blocked with hair try a toilet plunger to push the blockageout of the trap.
