" chrome " tail light cover rings

when we bought our 2014 FB FC 25' in 2/2014 everything was bright and shiny.

however, within a few months the "chrome" light trims all have pits and lines.

these are really only plastic, covered with a thin film of chrome.
they did not respond to the polishing I attemped using JC's own polishing instruction sheet.

these pieces were replaced during our 1st factory warranty visit.

again, a few months later the trim pieces were all in the same sad condition, despite polishing.

during our second factory warranty visit all pieces were again replaced despite the factory's assurance that these issues were normal, especailly since we live in Florida.

so here we are again, with these "chrome" pieces all showing pits, etc.

since the folks at JC are of no help, does anyone know where I can buy real chromed metal trim rings for the exterior lights.

I would gladly pay for quality parts that would last for several years.

for the cost of AS's these days, real quality parts should be a given,

thanks for any help

Jon

Jo0n,
I live in Florida also, just had all rings changed for the same reason.
I have not been able to find stainless replacement. Next failure I will look in truck supply catalogs for not airstream but high quality clearance lights Sad I show mine to GM of airstream and asked if they were pusueing stainless products. No

I too live in Florida. When my unit was new in April, I coated the trim rings on the lower level lights with CorrosionX. They still look like new. I did not do the same to the upper trim rings, and they now look like those in your picture. So if you get them replaced again, try CorrosionX. Joe

I went to purchase Corrosion X, but there seems to be a bunch of choices.

Is there one that works best?

I use the first one on that list, purchased from the Airstream store. Joe
