We hooked up the brakes lights for transport, haven't yet tried anything else, but do not expect the wiring within the roof to work. Not sure how we are going to progress on that yet.

Britbrat: I am tempted to leave it, too. However, roofing tar (from the storage facility) has melted into the clearcoat in numerous spots. I think we will worry about that Last. I just want to get this AS cleaned up and rolling down that road, once again. I have the rest of my life to focus on the details that aren't functional.

Pictures please please please. Voyeurism thrives here.

Please show us the inside too. I did notice that while the window stone guards Lexan had melted, the frames looked intact. Since they are aluminum with a fairly low melting temperature, I hope that means most of the panels and segments aren't too severely damaged. On the other hand, looking at the stainless steel rock guards, the one on the roadside looks warped - or maybe that's just smoke and clear coat damage. I'd test all the lights inside and out very early on. Ditto for the plumbing. If both are good you shouldn't have to pull the inside skins for repairs. Propane lines - Most of the system runs under the belly pan. Fire tends to burn UP, but I'd inspect every INCH of those lines with exceeding care (and NEW propane tanks and regulator). Looking at the smoke damage on your tanks convinces me that they are really built robustly - if they weren't - KABOOM - nothing to salvage. Even so, I doubt if anyone would refill them again, and they aren't too expensive so trash them.

Making an inventory of the parts that need to be replaced. Post it here and we can all double check it.

BTW, the Fantastic fans will be less expensive if ordered directly from the manufacturer, ditto for the awning.

How to tow your 'new' salvaged trailer home from the auction

Try to be as inconspicuous as possible and hope no one notices.

Actually doesn't look that bad. Like the inconspicuous TV as well. Pretty sure any insects or other critters are gone too. 😁

Well - it's never going to be a beauty without some major panel replacements - but if it's all cosmetic, then you can relax about scratches, hail dings, or bird doo-doo.

I double dog dare you to unroll the awning! Could be beautiful - or like autumn leaves falling.

How is the inside? And did you put new tires on, or are those survivors?

In the photos it now has the look of Wally's gold anodized trailer of the late 50's. The one which is at Jackson Center.

general response to questions

It, unfortunately,in some light it has a pea-green tone to the worst sections. We pulled out the awning, which is 100% intact with the exception of needing some new I-Cord, as it is coming out of the retainer in numerous places. There must be some plastic ball bearings in one of the end caps.
The tires are all fairly new and in good condition. The rock guard frames are intact. Our shoulders and neck muscles ache and we've just started.
By the way: Can of Beans is our daughter and SIL!
