I have a 2009 FC 25FB. You should be able to remove the brake lamp without removing the large metal housing from the trailer.
Each lamp has a plastic decorative bezel covering it. These are held in place by four integral tabs located at each end and at center of top and bottom. With a flat bladed screwdriver you should be able to pry these off gently. A warm day may help prevent breakage of the tabs. But if you do break the tabs, you can get replacements.
Once you have the bezel off, you will see that each lamp is secured by four screws. Remove the screws and gently pry the lamp out of its seat. The wiring uses bullet connectors--just pull to unplug the lamp.
Here's a photo of two of the lamps. I've cleaned the lower lamp in the photo:
Sorry, I didn't take a photo of the bezels, but here's a photo of the housing with bezels and lamps removed:
I wanted to re-clear coat my tail light housings, but decided I was too likely to scratch the trailer's skin in removing all the aged caulk holding the housings on the trailer body. So I decided to strip and clear coat in place. The last photo shows the completed mask job prior to stripping the old clear coat.
Hope this helps.
