Battery monitor for NEW 26U

We'll be taking delivery on a 26U in a couple of weeks. I assume there is no battery monitoring panel supplied by Airstream.

Have decided the Bogart TM-2030RV is the way to go ...

Is there reasonable room in the battery box to fish wiring into the trailer to feed the control panel? Anyone doing this and want to share your experience?

You could repurpose the CAT5 cable that's pre-installed for solar. I installed a Blue Sky controller with the IPN Pro remote that acts as a battery monitor. I was able to repurpose the 4 twisted pairs in the CAT5 wiring for my installation and still have one pair left over.

I would check out the the Victron Energy BMV-702, it's smaller and has a Bluetooth add on. Also using a 2" hole saw makes installation a snap.

If you only care about monitoring voltage and not temperature you can connect to the bus bars on the inside of the trailer. If you want to direct connect I'd pull the rtv out that holds the wires where they enter the floor then recaulk it after running the wires.

Lastly if you plan on doing solar using the BMV-702 saves money later if you installed Victron parts.

Have a '16 26U and it has a battery monitor. I have used mine about 65 days and 7500 miles and we sure like it.
