Aluminum Mini Blinds

Ok, we've owned our 2012 Flying Cloud for a year now. We've been full timing for the past 3 months. The mini aluminum blinds are driving me crazy. When the wind blows they rattle or if you bump them all all they come loose for the plastic clips. Has anyone replaced theirs? If so what do you. You help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Jimbo

When I did my walk thru after buying my 25' Cloud the fellow mentioned that the blinds were not the best.

There was a thread or post on this recently (within the past month) and it was suggested that very strong magnets be glued to the window frames and they would hold the blinds in place. Several said they had done it with good results.

We have replaced metal mini blinds in every trailer we have owned with curtains. They rattle, they come unhooked at the bottom, the wands come unhooked on the road and end up on the floor. The blinds also do not cover the entire width of the window leaving spaces to look in from outside. To us they are a general PITA. We haven't replaced them in the new A$ yet but it will happen soon I'm sure.

Good morning-

Interesting you should bring up blinds. I am going to purchase a Flying Cloud in 2014. And when I do, I am going to ask for the pull down shades that come on the Serenity. They said it would cost more, but....the pull downs seem efficient and without all the issues you mentioned. All good wishes. Kristine.

We like the look of the mini blinds, the ability to set them to control light and visibility. You can find faults with any window covering but the benefits are good. Raise them when the wind blows and perhaps add the magnets to keep them from bumping loose. They're manageable and cost nothing to keep.

Here's my solution

Eclipse sunshades designed for car/truck windshields. One set, less than $50, works for 2 windows. Get an extra set of window clips. Add a velcro strip to a piece of alumiinum angle iron and attach it on the other side of the window.

Aluminum Mini Blinds

Thanks to everyone for your thoughts and you've given me a couple of things to consider. Jimbo
