23D Packing question

As a new owner I am still playing with how to pack the 23D for travel, coming from a 17 Casita I KNOW there is plenty of room for my gear!
Has anyone come up with a good idea on using the shallow locker under the oven? Canned goods or ?

Looking forward to heading to the mountains soon.

We used ours for boxed stuff like aluminum foil, wax paper, baggies, etc.

We keep a dust pan and hand broom in ours.

Our 25FB has a very shallow cubby under the oven that I think is the same as in the 23. We use it for two frying pans, standing on edge. My wife installed a small strip of wood at the front edge of the bottom to keep the pans standing up when the door is opened.

We also keep our marshmallow sticks there.

Why shallow - stuff routed behind - plumbing, heating duct......

Use it for heavy canned goods, your tire chains if you carry, anything that needs to be in the middle due to it's weight. We used it to start with for the boxed items. As we tune the use, we adjust. Light stuff high up or in ends.

Do not forget the oven for storage. Paper goods and those boxed items will fit and not cause damage to the oven finish due to weight. You do need to have a box to hold that stuff when you bake.

Boxes and crates help corral stuff. Folks that do not hang clothes find shelves and drawers in the closet work better.

Do not forget to store the microwave glass plate in a padded bag for travel. They can be hard to replace.

We found that boxes at the front of the upper shelves help keep items organized. We place them cross ways while inside to outside seems more logical. We just can't find any that fit.

Wrapping items in your towels also helps keep them in place. You just have to take care in pulling out those towels to make sure that fragile items do not fall out and break.

Thanks for the info,
I was trying to keep the heavy items low and amidships so canned goods and other small heavy things will be in that area. I am also going to add matching handles to the two compartments just aft of the oven next to the wheel well for a few things in a box that keeps them off of the wheel well. I had not thought about using the oven much but it is a good idea for light stuff. Also planning to carry a case of water in the shower, in case of a leak.
