23D or 25 Rear twin?

Try making the bed up on the 23D....this may make your decision for you. My 25D....traded in less than a year to a 27 FB because of cramped toilet, nearly a back breaking job to make the bed.

Oh man, I went back and forth for 3 days between the 23D and 25RB. The AS people thought I was some sort of nut. Changed my mind every 20 minutes. In the end, as a single streamer, the 23D made the most sense for me. Plus in the 23' the two large side windows and portholes above let in so much wonderful light in the lounge area that the 25' does not have. And the lounge in the 23D is longer should I have a friend staying over and want to use that option for sleeping. The 25' is a whole different experience and for couples/families is certainly the more comfortable choice.
The 23 is the largest small Airstream. The 25 is the smallest large Airstream. Different animals.

Started off towing our 25FB with a 2007 Mercedes ML320 CDI diesel. I had taken the car to CanAm (from Phoenix to London, Ontario and back or 4,400 miles) to have the hitch reinforced and the Hensley stinger modified. The actual tongue weight had grown from the literature 833 pounds to 1,150 pounds ready to leave the lot.

Since the towing speed in California is 55 mph, I had no power related issues even going up the mountain on I-10 just East of Palm Springs.

Once in Arizona and loaded for camping, the tongue weight had increased to 1,175 pounds and the scales reported we were overloaded on both axles.

Thus we shifted to a 2012 Ram 2500HD diesel. That was more than sufficient for the 25FB and now the 31' Classic.

The cross frame queen bed was a major issue for me and we were not as happy with the rear dinette and trying to watch the TV.

We had ordered a 27FB Classic with twin beds but changed the order to the 31 Classic with twin beds. We decided to skip the intermediate size so we would not have a case of "two more feet itis" in a couple of years or less. The change was just the difference in list price or about $3,000 versus the whopper cost of trading in a new unit and paying a difference perhaps exceeding $20,000.

We are both extremely pleased with this decision and love all the storage access and space in the bedroom. We both sleep very well in our twin beds.

On some models in addition to our Classic, one can make the twin bed significantly longer than 78". I think we could have almost a 90" long mattress.

Keep looking. They are all wonderful and one will finally attract you likemetalk filings to a magnet.
