Yes, this helps greatly. So the optional AC appears to be over the bedroom. Is it any noisier being more concentrated in the back? BTW, I have read somewhere it is a 13,500 BTU unit, a tad smaller than the standard 15k unit. Is that true?
I like this for night running and boondocking as my Yamaha EF2400is can probably only drive a 13.5k unit. BTW, what configuration is the front mounted Generator hookup? Is it a standard 20A socket of some sort? Or is it something like the 30A connection? Anyone have a closeup photo of it? Forgot to look at this when we visited the dealer. I am thinking I will connect my Yamaha and be able to run the rear AC. I'd rather not connect through the standard shore power connection.

Seem to have an issue with the tv mount crimping connection on back of tv. And Winegard RS-0306 Roadstar antenna not working well.

In most 50 amp two air conditioner systems, the front one is 15,000 BTU and the rear is a 13,500 BTU. Since they are the same physical size, one could retro-fit a 15,000 BTU in the back. But that bedroom might get a tad bit chilly. The same 20,amp breaker could carry the load.

On the 50 amp service with dual air conditioners Airstream trailers, there is no factory installed secondary power input location. 50 amp service is in reality 240 Vac at the pedestal which is composed of two 120Vac legs.
The 50 amp to 30 amp conversion cords power both power legs inside the trailer from the single hot wire associated with 30 amp service.
There is a major change in life style when going from the 12,000 watts of available power on 50 amp serve to the 3,600 watts of available power from 30 amp service.
Only one air conditioner can be operated at a time on 30 amp service and the refrigerator and water heater need to be running in propane mode. Firing up the microwave or a hair dryer when the air conditioner is running may trip the main breaker.
If the modification requested will use already used parts, there is a much better chance of it being approved. We wanted a different flooring material from a lower trim line and backsplash behind the bathroom sink in our 2014 Classic. That was approved for a total $500 charge. Fortunately I was at the factory every day and caught the fact that the change order was not implemented in the shop floor work order as the wrong flooring and backsplash were installed. So overnight those two incorrectly installed items had to be removed after taking the shower and bathroom wall out and the correct ones installed and reinstall the shower and bathroom wall.

My Wife hates the L-seating, be it L-Lounge or extended dinette. We have a 23ft with L-Lounge out in California and its fine for our daughter and grandkids but we found it pretty uncomfortable. My wife looks at the extended L-dinette seating as a waste of space and I tend to agree. That's what drew us to the 26U to begin with. Bigger Lav, and dedicated dinette space. She would like to work on the road and while visiting our grandkids, and the split table setup would be ideal for workspace for her. Take out half the table and put a good quality office chair in there and what better office could you have with the panorama windows?
Still, looking at how we live at home, having a sofa with built in recliners (lazyboy style) would be sweet too. A twin 26 with the classic's sofa is about the best of all worlds to me.
Thanks all!

This is a modified Gourmet Kitchen 23' from Airstream Adventures....if you like the 23' could be an option to consider with your unit...

That's a beautiful kitchen lounge area. Just one problem, if that's a 23 then it is no doubt a corner bed. We have such a beast and have written it off and given to our daughter. We tried separate sleeping arrangements for awhile, with me on the l-lounge, but she still hated the corner bed, and although this dinette looks more comfortable than the L-lounge, its still a no go... Still deliberating about the 26U but frankly the tongue weight has me worried. Looking at the 25 now albeit with the extended lounge thingy, but at least its tongue weight is a tad lower.

Well, you have a good point there...we had that size bed in our first 25' Safari and was very "tight" for sure...that's main reason we sold it was bed. We have a twin model now and love it. That same front arrangement "Gourmet Kitchen" upgrade is available in 25' & 27' also; just kind of pricy. I think the practicality of the way it is done makes a lot of usable sense. Wish AS would adopt as an option....we also dislike the long lounge...waste of space for us.

My tongue weight is 990 with 25 and front sofa- soon to be a Villa Classic sofa. The question- is the 26U lounge comfortable?

Have been in our 26U since Jan. 20th. Got it @ the Tampa RV show. Comfort and storage have been good. Beds are good. Bath is large. Ducted Air is Quiet. Have mostly been using the Heat pump for the cold nights. Nice to have warm air coming thru vents.
Have TV reception problem. Found Bad cable from amp to back of set. Intermittent continuity. Tv mount breaks cable when locked for travel. My solution has been to add right angle connection at back of TV..still will need new cable. Also require trip to JC to replace wall (thermostat location) it has Bubbles in it.
Still in southern coast, until the dash up north.

It is fortunate for knunut that they will not drive much out of their way home to stop by the factory for the wall replacement due to improper manufacturing. Folks on the West coast with that issue would face a major fuel and time expense getting the unit to the factory and back home again plus the lodging and food while the trailer is worked on.
One would have to hope to find a really qualified shop close by for this kind of repair as it would be beyond the capability of many dealerships.

Seems like a major job.(Replace wall which back side is Shower) Plus don't want to be "Awaiting Parts" at a Dealer. Home base is 5 Hr. from JC. Have appt. can drive out on a Sunday ,do work Monday and be home Tuesday. Plus might have other issues by then.
It works for us.

Trailer comes with a Lot of pillows, which i was going to leave at home. However have been experimenting with U dinette comfort. I remove the side bench cushions and am using pillows . Removing cushions provides larger flat surface for lounging. So i might not leave pillows at home.

Putting a better grade of foam inside the pillows would make them actually supportive. Ours just go flat when sat on or learned against.

I noticed the two 110 outlets under the U shaped lounge, both TVs and DVD player only have one wall mounted 110v outlet. And those outlets are blue stickered with the inverter label. There is no accompanying shore power 110v outlet, like other AS models. Is the 26U forcing you to only use inverter power for these locations in the trailer?
I take delivery of my 26U in two weeks and the dealer was unable to answer my question and surprised to see this setup.

Refrigerator Fan
We are seriously considering upgrading our current 23FB to a 26U. We enjoy boondocking, but in our 2008 23FB the refrigerator fan runs constantly. Does the refrigerator fan in the new 26U run all the time, or does it even have a refrigerator fan?
