No, they slide over the bolts on the brake hub and then you mount your tire/rim as before. They are essentially a disk with an outer tube filled with fluid and metal bearings that auto-balance once you exceed 25 mph. The design balances the whole hub and tire assembly.

Thanks. that sounds like a good investment.

The Centramatic videos provide a good overview:

Greetings Brian - If I remember right New Lucy has the 16" upgrade, so who or where does one find these #200-221 airstream specials from. Also is there much to installing them?

Thanks

Doug

Thanks Brian
Looking at the pic's it looks like they just go between the hub and the Wheel? Also can you articulate where you got them and what ones to order. I have a 2013 28' FC, with the upgraded wheels to 16" Mich.
Thanks

Doug

That's correct, Doug. They just slip over the lug nuts, and you mount the wheel.

We got them directly from Centramatic in Texas. Give them a call. They are very helpful and will set you up with the correct model balancer.

Since the three sizes of Centramatics are the same price of $199 per set, I would suggest that if installing the 16" wheel upgrade one should order the ones designed with a larger diameter for those wheels.

Centramatic Part Numbers for Airstream use:

14" 5 bolt pattern #200-221 standard part

15" 6 bolt pattern #200-221 Special

16" 6 bolt pattern #300-356 all A plates

I have found the folks at Centramatic to be helpful. Explain to them what you have, and they will recommend the best balancer.

We had Centramatics on our 2005 Safari 25FB. We left them on Old Lucy as we were trading for a 23FB. We would have kept them to reuse if we had any idea that we would eventually go back to a 25FB..

We have now replaced New Lucy's living room Samsung 28" television. We have installed a 28" Vizio Smart TV. We wanted to be able to access Amazon Prime Video and Netflix directly without any hocus pocus.

We have now tested the connection using SuEllyn's Verizon cell phone wifi hotspot. It works flawlessly without any buffering or interruption. We think that this will work for us on the road.

That's interesting Brian. It never occurred to me that changing out the TV would eliminate the need to something like an Apple TV, to access things like Netflix. Sows how much I know about these so called smart TV's..... lol

New Lucy came off the line in May of 2015. Her OEM television is probably from 2013. The smaller size smart TV's are only of the last year or so. These TV's have their own Wifi and can directly connect to the Internet and access about 20 different channels and functions directly from the Internet.

Cool Brian, I will have to look into this. We generate our own WIFI network (Apple airport express) while on the road. We have a network printer we use often to print bills and online payments to maintain hard copies of everything.

Other than that we have a ATT MIFI that we use to access the internet with on our phones and iPad's. I was going to add an Apple TV to allow us to access Netflix on the Tv, but it might make more sense to just get a smart TV and be done with it.

Thanks again

Doug

I would have preferred to stay with a Samsung for Lucy. I went with the Vizio because I could find a Samsung Smart TV in the 28" size that I needed.

Going to a Vizio also has another benefit. When Lucy had the two Samsung televisions, we would often experience the problem of the wrong TV picking up the remote control signal. Many times, the bedroom TV would turn on while trying to turn on only the living room television.

When the the TV is connected to the internet, your privacy is over. We installed a large Sony that would accept "verbal" commands so it is "listening" all the time. The infrared eye to receive signals is watching all the time. Our TV is not directly connected to the internet.

Ah, yes, George Orwell predicted this pretty well in his book he wrote about Burma named "1984"........ Big brother is listening and watching those morning exercises.

Adding an AppleTV also give you the advantage of using Airplay from other Apple devices such as iPhone and iPad for displaying content (pictures, videos, or even mirror the image) easily from them to your TV's. For more information you can go to video below. If you fast forward towards end you can see it working. If you regularly use an iPad or iPhone this is a cheap and great addition to your AS.

We looked at add-on devices like the Apple TV and others. We like the Smart TV concept because it's all internal without any extra boxes, cords, and remotes.

Hopefully with the newer TVs they have put better processors in them as they were painfully slow even with speedy internet. I prefer connecting a device for these features and have chosen the Apple TV. If something better comes all you need to do is upgrade the device and not the TV.

I guess all of you that want to watch Netflix on the road must have unlimited data plans. I can't see campground and public WIFI working well for streaming Netflix.
