I'm glad to hear that. Those screen vents were not real good.

We stood in our unit for mere moments. There was a pair of rectangular screen vents near the central galley that I turned to see. Our sense was they were intake vents. In a few weeks we will begin the next chapter as owners. Production began March 26. My DH's final day in the office was March 27. Can't get much better.

Yes, the rectangle screens are the return (intake) Vents. They are mid cabin, one on each side.
Here is a picture of one of Lucy's removed from the ceiling.

There was an earlier discussion about owner installing a cabinet door support in the bathroom. I downloaded the parts manual for the Flying Cloid from AS and lo and behold there appears to be an AS cabinet door part, for that very cabinet, that looks a lot like a piano table support mentioned in the posts. I guess they have a part but don't install it ... Maybe I'm not reading the diagram correctly.

That was me who installed the piano bench support in New Lucy's bathroom. Old Lucy
(2005 Safari) had that part OEM from the Factory.

And I copied him. Thanks Brian, great addition. Saves having to rest the mirror on my head when looking in the cabinet. Should definitely be a standard item.

It used to be a standard item along with 12 volt outlets. Considering the price points on new Airstreams, you would think that they would continue some of these little niceties instead of dropping them. I sure am glad that they were able to up their profit by that three or four dollars gained when they dropped these little things.

We need to replace the under twin bed storage bins in our 25FB. The corners have broken in every one of them---really cheezy items. Our big box stores do not have the size we can use. Any recommendations would be helpful. Or Has Airstream upgraded these bins since 2010?

No, the new bins are just as cheesy as the older ones.
When we needed bins for Old Lucy, we went to Amazon and found what we needed. They had every size and configuration imaginable.

Brian, please help. I've done something to totally change my page here . There's no ads, no signature, no button for search, classifieds, etc.,
just the latest posts. My wife's page is the same as ever. What could I have done?

Replaced the rubber window opener knobs with these shiny vintage style. They also have a set screw. No more spinners.
Our Feather looking more like New Lucy Everyday.

Those chrome handles look great, Fred. Where did you get them?

That's not it. I am signed in and there's no place to sign out. Control panel will not load and the sight generally looks like the AP version.

Hi Jay,
Of course, it can never be the simple answer. Let me mess around a bit with it, and I will get back to you.

Hi Jay,
I can't figure out what's going on with your Airforums Screen. Can you try signing on from a different computer?
If that is not possible, you might try restarting your computer and signing on to Airforums with a different browser.
I first sent you this as a PM, but then realized that you would not receive it in your current situation.
Brian

New Lucy has had to make another quick trip over to Jacksonville. She is camped in Jacksonville now. It has been close to 90 degrees here the last couple of afternoons. I was thinking that the problems with her air conditioning ducts might be a issue when it got hot. I must say that I am pleasantly surprised that the air conditioning is working very well even with only half of the ducts operational.

Brian,
Here's the link for knobs and assorted items.
Vintage Trailer Supply - parts and supplies for vintage travel trailers and campers!
Can you install the new vents yourself, or have to go to Airstream?
I think we need a revision on our forward venting system also, but our cooling working very well as you stated. But I don't notice any airflow.

As to your question regarding the directional air conditioner vents, you can install them yourself. I have read on another thread that the screen vents are pretty difficult to remove without damaging the ceiling. Installing the new vents won't do anything to change or improve the airflow to individual vents. If your system is like mine and has no air flow to certain vents, there is probably something blocking airflow in the ducting system. This is the main issue that we will have addressed at Jackson Center late this month.

We just applied ours on the top side of the belt line (not over it but literally on the top of the belt line laying flat on the strip with the LEDs facing upward. DW had a great idea to Velcro the controller to the forward window. Works like a charm!!
Very happy with this ( the pics don't do it justice... ).
Thanks for the idea, Brian!
