It is a beautiful morning at Fort Wilderness. It is currently 66, and it is forecast to top out at 78 this afternoon. There is not a cloud in the sky.

AntiquePedlar don't get totally hooked on the Denver Local stations. Dish does 'zone' broadcasting of local stations. Think of it as shining a sharp beamed flashlight on a globe. If you are in the beam you have light if not then it is dark. Same analogy for the way they handle local stations. When you change location you give them a call and give them the local address and zip where you are located. They will make the change at their end and you will get the beam from the local stations for that area.

I too thought, what the heck I should still get the Denver stations over in Kansas City. No go. Makes no sense but that's what happens. Also it may take a couple of calls to get local to work. One thing is that you should have the system setup and running in your new location before calling them for the local switch. I tried calling before I arrived several times and it just doesn't work. Need to be on the system, sats running on the Dish part of the channels and then call with the local location.

We are in ft wilderness now also. Not in airstream .

Just bought new 2014 20 flying cloud. Will take delivery when snow allows-- bought in Grand Rapids mich!

Will ride bikes or golf cart past your site later this afternoon.

Hope to meet you if you are around.

Fort wilderness Camping

For Moosetags,
looks like a great site at Fort Wilderness. Is that your favorite? Are others similar?

Thanks,
Rick

All the Fort Wilderness sites look pretty much like ours. There are 20 Loops of campsites. All are full hook-up except 1500 which is water/electric. About half the loops are pet friendly.

Missed you!

Brian

We stopped by about 545 pm.

Thanks for the reply post.

Sorry we missed you.

Great night for touring the park!

Will try again tomorrow am --if we do not get a chance to meet you, just want to say your new airstream looks really nice.

Sorry, we had apparently just left. We went up to the Chip and Dale ho-down and campfire.

We will be here until Saturday.

If your interested, the Orion launch was scrubbed today however the lift off from Cape Canaveral will be tomorrow at approximately 4 AM. I'm sure you'll be able to see it even if you don't drive to Cocoa Beach to view it. It is early but a historic first flight for NASA to return the U.S. Back to space.

Thanks for the tip. We were ready to look for it this morning when it was scrubbed. We may get up early and try to see it. We're about 50 miles from the Space Center here at Fort Wilderness. There is a lot of tree cover here, but we may give it a try.

I'm retired now but worked in Aerospace for nearly 35 years. I spent a lot of time working at the Cape and living in Cocoa Beach. I loved every minute of it and still keep up with what is happening in the industry. When I was there I never missed Shuttle launch, day or night. Have fun

We lived in Jacksonville for many years. During clear weather conditions, we could see launches from there. It is an awe-inspiring sight.
