Unless it's upgraded, it's probably the same sorry single stage charger they ruins batteries. Many threads on this subject on the forums..

Tends to cook batteries at a constant excessive voltage instead of charging them correctly.

A replacement can be had that does a much better job. Lots of threads in the forums about replacement converters.

Our decent. Batteries cot cooked to death in less than a year. I'm replacing the Airstream POS with a 3 stage Powermax to prevent more damage. In the meantime I only charge with solar system which has a decent charger.

The factory solar charger on my 2012 is not a decent charger; it is either on or off. I replaced it with a multi-stage charger, similar to the issue with the converter.

Our 2015 International 23D came with a Parallax 8355. I am currently testing it to understamd how it works. It can utilize a battery temperature aensor (and I have ordered one), but does not come with it from the factory.

It is improved from our previous 2007, but could be better. It will float the battery at lower voltage, so will not "cook" them. I am trying to understand whether it is doing a proper job of a full charge.
