Trudy is a 55-lb Bull Terrier. Same breed as the Target dog, Spuds McKenzie, and Patton's dog Willie (among others of course).

We got in two 2014s on the same day, one had the Sony, the other the Pioneer. I think they used the Sonys until they ran out, then switched, since the one with the Sony had a VIN a couple numbers lower than the Pioneer-equipped unit.

I was hoping I was not the only one with this flashing display problem (on the pioneer). I read the manual front to back, did what it said... Something about the Illumination setting and turning off the effect. No go. I will try again with the directions listed above.

Also wondering how to turn off the bedroom speakers. I see no "A/B" speaker option. Any know how to choose which speakers?

Generally with an automotive stereo you'll have a control to "fade" (or balance) front to rear. With modern ones it's often under audio settings right after the left-to-right balance.

Well your not alone. I just got a 2014 FC 25 with the same equipment and have the same issue as you

Pioneer radio

Before you can turn off the radio, or stop the flashing colors, you first have to take the radio out of "Demo Mode". Just consult the radio manual that came with your airstream. Then, you can program all the functions and turn the thing off!

Regarding the Sony radio, even after programing the radio, when the power shut off/store button is used when storing the trailer, when battery power is restored to the trailer the radio is back in Demo mode again. Any ideas on how to retain the settings even when power is shut off to the radio?

Once the batteries are disconnected that's it. When the radio is powered up again it reverts to Demo Mode because the memory was erased. If possible, keep your Airstream plugged in when in storage.

I was finally able to turn my demo off, but lights are still flashing. Drives me crazy while we camp. Has anyone figured this out yet? I sure would appreciate some directions!! Thanks!

If you leave your Airstream plugged in, the Battery Disconnect switch must be in the "USE" position. That means the single stage Airstream converter is not only powering the radio, is is overcharging the batteries as well. It will ruin the batteries prematurely and most probably shorten the life of the converter.

The solution is either a solar system to charge the batteries and supply 12 vdc to the trailer through the batteries (without external power plugged in), or a three stage converter/charger to replace the single stage original.

Or a three stage charger connected directly to the batteries.

An excellent solution as well and the least expensive.

Remax Girl, if you hold the "off"for about 3 or 4 seconds. This turns the radio completely off, but still retains the set stations. At least that's how mine works (when it works).

Unfortunately, (or fortunately) ours works great, but holding that button absolutely will not turn off the illuminations - they keep flashing. Looks like a 1970 disco!! The color bounces off the silver airstream walls! We put a hook over the stereo and hang my husband's hat. It helps! I just can't imagine there isn't a way to turn everything off. I have looked at the book! Insane!!Thank you so much for trying

If we have the same model, I seem to remember that there is an obscure menu line that turns the display off. If you have a detachable faceplate you're could remove it at night...

Sometimes the Sony site has updated manuals.

Good Luck
