2014 25FB FC Furnace Procedure

I have an issue I sure could use some help with. Im looking for steps for placing Furnace in service. I've had my RV about a year now and living in south Texas really don't have the need for the furnace that often. I saw last week that when the unit is placed in service first time it would smoke. I plan a trip next week and will need furnace so today I wanted to get past that point. I received lots of info with my AS but lord help me I can't find the procedure for placing furnace in service. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you know how to operate your thermostat for the A/C, and have adequate propane, all you have to do is move the thermostat selection to furnace, and set the temp.

It's that automatic.

If you don't know the above, the Dometic Thermostat instruction manual will get you started.

While I have a '74 Airstream, I replaced the furnace two summers ago.

On mine, all I had to do was open the valve to turn on the gas and then turn the thermostat lower to "demand" that it heat.

Then yes, a sort of burning smell, but not for long. Leave the furnace running and sit nearbye it outside to make certain it stays going and that nothing strange occurs.

But in the newer models like yours, the thermostat was made more complex. If you don't have a document with good info on it, I would start by contacting your AS dealer and if they don't have something, get hold of the manufacturer. Hopefully one of those companies can email the docs to you.

Good luck!

I played with the thermostat a little bit today. The AC works great. But I never could get Thermostat to switch to the furnace mode. Never ever saw it. I will give it another shot. Thanks for your help.
