I had a sail switch stick in the furnace - easy fix - but it was the only cosmetic failure per se

The drawer latches !! They simply will fly out in transit unless you make a fix - either get dealer to swap the catches for something stronger or install a couple hooks and use a bungee - or get those travel latches - something - anything to do the job

I have a 2014 - iggywalker does too - same problem

Check the screws in the overhead storage doors - if loose and stripped remove screw - add toothpick and use wood glue and re screw

No problems have kept is from enjoying our travels though so it has been no problem for us beyond these small gripes that I will have them address

Very excited that our new 2014 Bunkhouse arrived. We stayed in it two nights so far and I feel AS obsessed. Love it. I just need to quickly immerse myself in the owners manual now and educate myself on how to use it. As of now we have plugged it in to 50 amp service but haven't yet hooked to water or sewer. Here are some picks of the inside. We removed the factory bedding, pillows, etc. and added our own. Here are some pics. Hope u like!

Checking in from the Republic of Korea and thankful for all of the experience shared on this thread. We have two young children (9 and 5) with NO RV experience of any kind. We ordered the 2015 FC 30' Bunk with solar, awnings, the second AC and look forward to picking it up sometime in the late spring of 2015.

We plan on taking long weekend trips once we get back to the USA and then hitting the road for a 49 state 12-18 month tour of our great country focusing on the National Parks while "road-schooling" the little people.

I am tempted to ask the dealer to order 16" Michelin tires and disc brakes from the factory prior to them moving it to the dealer. I am also undecided on the best Tow Vehicle, but am leaning towards a diesel Ford F350, 250 or Ram 2500. We will cross the Rockies at least several times and I want to make sure we have the power to get up the mountains as well as the stopping power to safely make the rest of the trip.

All thoughts welcome and thanks again for the continued discussion!

Thank you for posting. I went ahead and ordered the towel racks and will install rubber buttons behind shade contact points. Did you make the shower screen or purchase it? If purchased, can you please share where you purchased the shower screen?

I purchased the shower screen from Ace hardware. They make different sizes and are designed to sit on top. While we never use the stopper I decided to get a slightly larger size and cut the outer sheet metal off the screen and then with good shears cut the screen down to a perfect size to just go in with a slight push. Once centered I used a bead of RTV to lock it in place just far enough down to use the stopper if needed in the future.

A few more things done and in the planning stages:

The bathroom ergonomics is the worst aspect of the bunkhouse. I am planning to add a fold down shelf hinged at the shower wall that would go across the toilet area in order to have somewhere to put hairdryers, curling irons, makeup bags/shaving kits etc. for getting ready in the morning. There is very little storage and no surface area to use. If the switches for the toilet were not on the sink wall maybe one of the small fold up sink counter top extensions (like on our 2012 25’ FB) would have been a very good functional addition.

Would anyone have any suggestions for a bathroom over the sink cabinet? This is something else I want to add. I have been looking on-line at examples of other trailers but sill not finding a good "fit". I guess I could take it by Timeless Travel Trailers to see what they can do.

I have removed the Master Bed Room TV and installed matching coat hooks (like at the entry) on both sides of the bedroom walls for my wife and I to hang clothes, robes etc..

Installed a Pro Pride for use with a ML350 Bluetec and what a very nice setup indeed. Even under heavy wind conditions it was still very stable. While the whole rig would move I had to make very little steering wheel inputs unlike previous setups.

Installed a Battery Doc in the battery compartment and a lock to keep it secure in storage. The Battery Doc is hardwired but the cables disconnect directly from the unit. I do not see a problem just leaving it in there full time but it can easily be removed.

Purchased a new 30' 50A power cord (Marinco 30RPC50RV Park Power, Cord Set, 30' 50A, Right Angle from Tweetys RV via eBay) after having one heck of a time trying to use the cheap plastic one that came with the trailer in cold weather last week in Meza, AZ.

Plan on remounting the main TV on a hinged plate so it can be released from the far side and angled out toward the couch. This was quite a disappointment to realize we could not relax on the couch and look directly at the TV. Our 2012 25' FB had the release, pull out and angle kit on it but they apparently stopped doing this.

The trailer is currently scheduled for service on Feb 2nd to have the following issues addressed:

1) Crack in UL on the dinette.
2) Video switch not working.
3) All of the edge banding on/in the cubby holes needs to be redone.
4) Flat trim pieces were coming off the vertical supports between the overhead cabinets. Not properly glued.
5) Significant noise/vibration in the furnace.

Another strange issue we noticed is that on cold mornings if you run the stove vent fan it would cause the furnace to come on and just keep running till it would get very got in the trailer. We replicated this several mornings in a row. It would seem that the air being drawing out by the stove vent fan pulls cold air in by the fridge causing the wall where the thermostat is mounted to get cold causing thermostat to read colder than it is.

I suggest taking the thermostat off the wall and putting some rubber insulation under it and fill the wire hole with putty so no air comes through the opening. That location gets hot in the summer and cold in the winter regardless of the ambient air temperature and causes too much run time for either cooling or heating.

Sometime when the refrigerator is out of it's space, cover the wiring and the hole in the wall to the thermostat with aluminum tape. That helps to stop drafts to the insides of the thermostat.

We have a 2014 Bunkhouse and I found this out at well and did something similar to stop the draft going to the thermostat on the wall. I had quite a list of issues with both AC units since we got ours in June 2014.

Rear AC wasn't properly sealed and condensation would build up from the inside and drip through the filters onto the floor. Not one or two drops but sometimes a good shower depending on humidity levels.

The plastic cups that collect the water that drips from the AC units and drips it out on the tires were cracked on both AC units and had to be replaced.

Most of the issues that have been listed here we have found out at some point as well.

Probably could make as super long post as we are full-time in ours traveling with 2 boys and they can certainly test the durability of this unit!

The drawer issue of coming out while traveling is definitely one you need to have under control unless you want to take the time to fix pulled out screws from drawers.

Do watch out for the blown 15amp fuse with the toilet system. Can leave you in a messy situation.

Sensors are a joke for the tanks but we all knew that!

Stove fan will stop sometimes then decide it wants to work again.

Clothesline in the shower gave way from the shower wall.

Now please don't let my list fool you. We absolutely love our Airstream and moved into it from a 44ft 5th wheel which had its on issues as well. This unit is perfect for our family and the ease of towing and getting in and out of places has made traveling that much easier.

We have had a number of small issues and we will soon have warranty service at dealer

I did have a bit if condensation when turning off the AC in summer - does that indicate a cracked cup or something else perhaps?

PharmGeek the cracked cups were found when I noticed that water was not coming out from the tubes on the tires. After further inspection they had cracked right where the nipple joins the cup.

As for condensation that wasn't something we were always able to reproduce. It began though to get worse to where we would have to put a bowl on the floor to catch water after the AC would quit running. I assume that the water was suspended in there somehow while the unit was on. Having an Airstream dealer look at it and find out that the entire unit wasn't sealed to the roof of the Airstream properly was allowing a hot mix of humid air from outside directly inside which then caused random showers. Since the re-sealing of the AC back in July we have not had anymore issues.
