2012 Flying Cloud 23FB Purchase

Well, we got us a new toy! We have had many RV's over the years including trailers, 5er's, and motorhomes. This is our first Airstream. We love it! Has plenty of room for the two of us and pulls like a dream. We don't like hotels and this is our home away from home. Our trips average 2 weeks at a time so this is perfect. Our new 2012 Ford f150 Ecoboost King Ranch SuperCrew pulls it like a dream. Dealer included a Equalizer 4 point hitch. That coupled with the Ford built-in brake control makes towing a piece of cake.

Great choice for an Airstream and an F150 ecoboost. Welcome to the forum. I would say that your new choices will result in a much simpler rv life style.

My son and daughter in law live in Fort Worth. It is a very nice city. I just came back recently from spending a month there to redo a bathroom for them.

Thanks Robert. The EcoBoost is all they claim it to be. I couldn't believe the pulling power that thing has. My wife drives a King Ranch Expedition. If they put the EcoBoost in those in the future I will see a new Expedition coming to the family.

Dan, Thanks for the welcome. We have been wanting and looking for that simpler RV lifestyle! I think we found it. We have looked at Airstream trailers for several years but just couldn't make up our minds. The choice of which model is very difficult. They all have + and - you must consider. We like the rear bath, storage space, closet space, larger holding tanks, 8' wide, and lower tongue weight than other models we looked at. We almost bought a 25 BWB Flying Cloud but got a much better deal on the 23FB plus we like the size of the 23 for traveling. If we were going to use it more and for longer trips than our 2 weeks a few times a year the 25BWB might have won out. We are happy with our choice and look forward to many years of travels in her.

We love our 12 FB Flying Cloud. We tow with a 2011 Tahoe with HD trailering package and integrated trailer brakes. Love the combo. BTW when I first put my iPhone into the stereo the first song that popped up was "The Weight" by the Band. So there you go she picked out her own name

Congrats; we like our FC, too. What is the significance to your TopGun handle?
