2011 a/c?

Hi All,

Have an AC ?? regarding how to remove the cowling inside to tighten the bolts holding the AC in place. I can locate and loosen 6 screws, but it seems to be held in place with 8 screws. Anyone know where the other 2 screws are that seem to be holding the howling in place in the middle?

Has AS work on the noise issue when I was there in June, and on my last leg home, was driving in the rain and water was forced in. No other signs of water coming in with just rain, it has to be in transit to leak.

Anyway, any help would be greatly appreciate, going up into the Blue Ridge in a couple of weeks and it's on my list of to dos before the trip.

If you have a Penguin, there are 2 screws hidden, one each under (above?) the two small side vents. You have to snap out the vents to see them.

Thanks for the input, is it hard to snap out the vents without breaking them?

A wonderful typo: " Anyone know where the other 2 screws are that seem to be holding the howling in place in the middle?" Would those be the ones that fixed the noise?

But, the problem may be that when they fixed the "howling" they disturbed the seal around the A/C and tightening the screws won't help. I'd take it to the dealer and let them mess around with it. But tightening the screws are worth a try. It could be tested with a garden hose. If you go any further and you don't fix it, the dealer may not touch it claiming you voided the warranty. You just can't tell with dealers.

Thanks Gene, pretty funny looking at the typo! Howling does seem to be the appropriate term. Seems to me that if they can make jet engines less noisy, they sure might be able to make these Acs quieter, right!?

Will try tightening the bolts, if I can locate the other 2 screws to remove. If I can make it, I will head to a dealer on the way to Florida later in October. Was hoping I could make some headway by then. I don't think AS did anything with the gasket on the AC. I think they loosened the screws to make the vibration less, and once I got underway in the rain, that is when the leaking happened. I don't get any rain inside otherwise, only in transit.

Hi, on mine there are two bolts, or nuts, inside of where the filter covers are. The covers pop off easily without breaking. Read your owner's manual on this as the bolts are torqued in inch pounds and over torquing them could damage things. I tightened mine using two fingers on a 1/4" ratchet set-up.

Also two screws are hidden in the small circles at each edge of the return air vent.... you will need a good flashlight to find em....

Hi all,

Finally had the time to get the AC situation under wraps. Managed, with all the help from you all, to get the final 2 screws out (which were underneath the side vents that pop up) and got the cover off.

Interestingly, only 3 bolts were used to secure the AC to the trailer, 2 in the forward position and one in the middle of the back. Odd, why would AS only put 3 bolts in? Anyway, after tightening (just a smidge), it will be interesting to see if I get any leakage while driving again.

Headed up to the Blue Ridge Parkway, and a glorious Fall color season. Hope you all are enjoying the Fall as well.

My 2011 25FB came with the air duct not connected to the vent, and in addition the thermostat would not work sometimes because of the comm cable connection resting in the aux water pan, so when the unit would produce a large about of condensation it would stay on and not cycle, (another problem) until the 120V connection box (located next to the condenser) would get so much water in it, it would shut down the circuit breaker...... multi-problems.... It was a tough and hot summer for us......
