Just got back from a 4k Wyoming run. The top trim on the refrigerator won't stay on. It pops back into place with authority but manages to pop out every day.

I used small screws to stop fridge trim from coming off.
Today installed foam pipe insulation on Hot water lines . Have bench seats out for re-upholstering and was able to cover quite a bit of pipe. Hope this will get Hot water to sink faster.

I'm camping right now and just noticed that the NEW refrig door is loose and the NEW skin is sliding down. Anyone know of a premium unit to replace these Dometics?

Ours does the same exact thing!
It's so frustrating, as this has been happening since the very first day we took it out and it was brand new.
We are on the second pc of trim - having had it replaced under warranty and it's the same story - just a different day!
I think I will call the dealership to replace again. When you pay well over $xxk for a trailer - I don't think the trim should be popping off every time the unit is out on a trip.

We had the same problem on our 2012. I put a couple of drops of super glue at each of the lock tabs and have never had the problem again.

The piece is supposed to be removable for a purpose so I will only glue it as a last resort. I have the bottle ready though...

I have a 2004 Safari 22' and if you are talking about the same floor plan I agree. I have not seen an Airstream of similar size yet that I like as well. I do like the 25 twin FB, but not at the prices they are selling at. Beside, the 22 is plenty for my wife and I.

Hi. As this thread is about "20-footers" and the Safari 20 has the same floor plan as later models redubbed "Flying Cloud" I wanted to justify participation of Safari 20 owners (like me) because FC seemed to be dominant and presumed.
OTOH, the Safari 22 would not seem to fit.

I remember our 20 fridge whole door loosening up to the point where it would open on its own ... spaghetti sauce all over the recently carpeted floor ... bungee cord security back up after that.

Myles - I'm sure everyone will welcome Safari 20s without prejudice! Folks?

So our "not very statistically valid" study concludes that this is BIG problem!
Anyone NOT have this issue with their frig door system?

Like DW wild child says ,our fridge trim pops off all the time .This trip out i'm going to try double sided tape (carpet tape) . fairly strong grip and not permanent . As for discussing other airstream models in this thread ,I started it to share what we are learning and enjoying about this size ,and style .Everybody is welcome ! as long as you stay on topic in general ,that's just polite in any forum . back to the fridge problem ,we should start talking specific models ,and see if there are other discussions on airforum pertaining to our shared problem

Hi. Darrell. Fridge door separation problem has not appeared yet for my generation Dometic. I generally engage the latch out of an abundance of caution. But the top trim strip did pop off once or twice.

For record keeping purposes ours is a 2015 Flying Cloud 20'. If I drive for more than 4 hours the top strip will ALWAYS be detached all the way across the top. I have to admit, I have never checked the other strips.

I have never had the slightest problem with the fridge door or panels on my 2014 FC 20. Two years and lots of miles, mostly on secondary NW roads.

I have been lurking here and enjoying the comments, as I am looking for a good used FC20 in the Northeast per this listing:
Flying Cloud 20 2012 or earlier
If you know of any units which might be coming up for sale, please ask the owner to contact me. I had a 25' AS rear corner bed Sovereign years ago, and want to downsize to the FC20.
Thanks

There is a 2008 listed in NY in the classified section of this site. Do an advanced search and look under the 13-21 feet.
