Winterizing Valve on 27FB

Hi there, Anyone owning a 27FB or any later model RV tell me if they are equipped with the wintering valve that is inline befoe the water pump. These valves are switchable from taking water from the fresh water tank OR from a clear flexible tube for the purposes of pumping in plumbers antifeeze. I know these models are equipped with the hot water tank by-pass.

Appreciate your response in advance.

Hi Mifair. I don't know that I've ever heard of the factory installing these. It's easy enough to do it yourself. I've heard of dealers installing them when requested.

Without the kit, the only way I know to do this it is to 1st be sure the fresh water tank is drained then close the petcock and add 2-3 gallons (or more if needed) of potable RV antifreeze. if the trailer is leaning slightly towards the pickup tube, you should be able to use the pump to get it. The kits cost about $20-25. A local dealer carries 3 different brands and there's little difference between them, one has a plastic valve, the others are brass.

I just received my kit from Camping World (CW) today. The price was $10.99 US dollars. It is called a Pump Converter Winterizer Kit. CW Part# is 6279. It comes with the brass valve., clear tubing and fittings and seal tape. It's a Camco brand kit.
