It's the microphone for the Bluetooth system. When paired with your phone you can make phone calls using the trailer's speakers and that mic.

Microphone for synched cell phone. Don't worry, it will takes a lifetime to figure out the foreign written instructions to use that (expletive deleted) radio interface device provided by the lowest bidder let alone get the phone to work with it.

Alien device designed to monitor you so they can take over. Just because you're not paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get you.
As others said, mic for cell to connect to your radio by Bluetooth. Works great!
