We brought home our International Serenity Bambi 16 about three weeks ago. We had been looking around at various motorhomes and trailers we could tow with a Subaru Outback. When I walked through the trailer at the Airstream dealership, I positively fell in love with it. We were held up a bit, because we also had to buy something to tow it! Fortunately, we had one auto that we needed to sell, so we still have space in the garage.
Anyway, our first trip was to Mt. Rainier. I love national parks, so the first trip had to be to a national park. Overall the trip was a success. Well, we didn't realize our battery was nearly dead, so we had to do without lights and water the first weekend.
Then there was the first backing up and unhitching, which took way too long. We held up an elderly couple while unhitching. They were awfully nice about it. Hitching up to leave went equally well. Not. But at least the guy we held up that time was nice, too.
For our second trip, we stayed an an "RV resort." After years of tent camping, it was quite deluxe. We had wifi and tv! The pull-through was nice, too.
The 16' is just big enough for my husband, me, and our golden retriever puppy. We're fortunate that he calms down inside the trailer. Unfortunately he hates the car (truck). He's OK while driving, but refuses to get in the truck!
