Signature Series - leather vs fabric

Hi all,

I am interested in potentially getting a 30' Int Sig Series. The only one I've seen online has the leather seating.

Does anyone know if the 30' is also available with fabric seating? Airstream doesn't list that length on their website, so I'm wondering if it's a regular production model...

Plus... Does anyone know if there are any basic differences between the leather and the fabric Signature Series units, aside from the obvious... For example, do both models have the same Ocean Air roller shades? That sort of thing...

A salesguy I spoke with told me the fabric units are a step down from the leather units, and he mentioned the shades were different quality...as well as other options were different. I had my doubts over that, since he previously pointed out the sewer flusher and told me it was the city water hookup... ;-)

Thanks in advance!

Cheers.

Not an answer to your question but relevant, I don't think Airstream uses genuine leather. "Ultra-leather" is synthetic material and isn't genuine leather. No comparison.

AC-JH is right. We have a 2011 Serenity and the material is actually made from recycled plastic bags. It's (to my eye) good looking if maybe a little slippery. As a chronic sloucher, this is sometimes a challenge for me Time will tell how durable it is.

Take a look at the 2011 30ft Serenity on the Colonial Airstream website. 23 ft is all I need, but that 30 footer must be a great way to go! good luck in your search.

You need a good salesman to cover lines/options. For example, the Classics have ultraleather covered cushions as standard. The Flying Cloud (which I have) has fabric as standard and ultraleather as an option. I chose to recover my cushions at a local upholsterer with the ultraleather (my choice of quality/color). I've had ultraleather before, it's durable, and looks good. Real leather is good too but costs much, much more.

Ultraleather is a synthetic material made from polyurethane. It's more durable than leather but much cheaper. Many major yacht, airplane, and higher end RV manufacturers use ultraleather. And, it isn't made from recycled trashbags. See this website for more information:

Don't tell my daughter that the material is not recycled! But I bow to your superior knowledge in re these matters.

Stream on!
