Shower Cleaning Product Recommendation

Hey All, I don't know what it is about us but our shower floor and lower sidewalls are super dirty. Last year I used Dawn and a scrub brush and it certainly did help but didn't wipe it clean and this year it seems to be back with a vengeance. I've been fending off my wife's threats of using Tilex for a while now because I've seen how dangerous she can be with that so if anyone has a tough but gentle solution, I'd love to hear it.

Thanks!

Dow Bathroom cleaner. Use a soft sponge to scrub gently and rinse thoroughly. We use it on the vinyl floor as well.

We squeegee the shower enclosed on our 2008 Classic 25fb every time we take a shower. Then I wipe down the shower door and frame with my towel. Haven't had to use any cleansers. Don't let the shower dry naturally.

Another forum member recommended this in a different thread:

It's the best product I have found.
Clean the shower really clean (scrub, scrub, scrub till it's clean as possible). Then use the Wet and Forget product about once per week. Just spray it on and let it dry. Each use between treatments self cleans the shower. I use it in my home and in both of my trailers.

Be careful. It is really slick the first shower after each treatment.

add edit:
I squeegee after each use too.

Another good product is Shower Power (https://www.buyshowerpower.com/products/shower-power). It will get the shower clean. Spray on, wipe it around, rinse off. It really will remove soap and hard-water scum. Breathing the mist while spraying is unpleasant; no problem after all spray has settled on the shower surfaces. If necessary, you can apply it a second time to remove all traces of scum.

And switch to something like Neutrogena soap that rinses more easily. Quality of body/hair products about kills the problem.

I use the same thing for past five decades in the SS shower: Gel Gloss.

We squeegee, too; but I use a microfiber cloth to finish wiping dry. Same results as Kelvin; i.e., the shower in our 2005 19' Bambi looks the same as it did when new.

We've never used any cleansers, either, which would have scratched the finish.

Thanks all for the suggestions. Squeegee would be a good idea. If we're going to be closed in with AC on we do towel dry it out but that's 1 in 10 uses maybe. I'm no hippie but I've always been reticent to use a "wet and forget" style product; God only knows what breathing that in will do to the lungs but really I wasn't sure if the fiberglass would appreciate it. Our Gray water is mostly going into a septic system as well. Will try the shower power!

I use a 50/50 mixture of dawn detergent and white vinegar. Spray it on and then wipe it down, rinse and let dry.

Then I apply a coat of Turtle Wax ICE. I don't put the wax on the floor though. So far, it looks almost new except for the floor. Upon close inspection I see that the "pebbled" surface is starting to wear. I don't think this is just dirt. I would not use Tile-X. It has ruined more than one grouted shower wall in our home. I would worry about the fiberglass walls in the trailer.

I also squeegee and dry after showers. For a good cleaning and polish, I occasional use Gel-Gloss. It does a decent job but I feel a high quality auto cleaner/wax is also a good option.

Same situation with our floor. The raised area has the gelcoat worn off and looks grey. I have not used any heavy abrasives, travel with the hand sprayer wrapped up well in a towel laying on the floor, and we don't get in the shower with sandy feet or anything else that should cause the wear.

I'm assuming the gelcoat is that thin. I might talk to our local fiberglass repair guy about recoating the floor.

White Vingar and Baking Soda. If you can find Heinz Cleaning Vinegar, BUY IT! It’s 6% acid instead of only 5%. Doesn’t sound like a big difference, but when you are cleaning with it, there IS a difference.

Spray the vinegar on the shower, sprinkle baking soda, lean back and wait for the first fumes to subside. Then go to town with a folded cloth or sponge. Do not use a cheap cellulose sponge, (they begin falling to pieces fairly soon), use one of the cloth covered ones. I’ve been doing this since we got our Airstream. We both use showel gels, no soap. Does it look new? No, we have a 1988, we got it in 2014. But it is clean to the touch.

Claening shower

I come from the bathroom renovation business. The best product I have ever seen to clean your shower, whether it is ABS, acrylic or gel gloss is a product
called Gel-Gloss.It is available at Home Depot. Don't get the product in a spray can. You will need some "elbow" grease"

It is a gel which you rub on like auto wax. Don't be afraid if you think it feels like a grit. The fine beads are beads of wax, which do the cleaning. When it drys a haze wipe it with a clean soft cloth. You will find that water beads up after you're done.

For years I have used it on boats trailers, shower & tub surrounds and it never ceases to amaze me.
I also used it to remove stubborn spots. They just take a little more "elbow grease".

If you use bar soap, switch to a body wash.

There is a shower cleaning product in our trailer that came with the trailer.
We haven't used it.
The shower has remained clean and white just by wiping it down with the bath cloth after each shower.

Found a Meyers product that looks promising

Hello, we’re waiting for our 26 RB to make its way out of production. In the mean time we found a mrs Meyers clean day product, baking soda cream cleaner, that might just fill the bill for a gentle scratch free clean. Just throwing this find out there. Perhaps someone has tried it already?

Staying busy preparing for the arrival day. So much fun.

My shower is where my cat box lives. It is removed and the stall wiped down prior to taking a shower. Stall is then wiped down again removing all water. That keeps everything pretty clean. When I do actually clean it I use the same products I use at home. In addition I give all places where water accumulates a wash down with a mixture of bleach and water in a spray bottle. Seems to work keeping mold at bay.
