Had a custom mattress made from this place using our OEM mattress as a template:

We went all out on quality and it is amazing. Heads and tails better then the original mattress.

I have considered a Sleep Number, but have been concerned about the weight and if you have to have shore power for it to work.

How does this work for you?

thanks,

Weight is not a issue it is lighter than the original. You do need power to inflate or deflate. Once you have your sleep number you really don't need to deflate unless you are travel from a low elevation to a high elevation. When we do that we deflate it to 50. It only take about 30 secs to inflate both sides. You can use your inverter or 110.

Order just about any foam/tempurpedic/latex/memory foam queen mattress online or amazon. As long as the dimensions are greater than the AS mattress. Then order an electric carving knife (~$15). Use your original mattress as a template to trace onto the new foam mattress. Trim as necessary. It will cut like the proverbial hot knife through butter.

I did this to replace my twins in my 27FB. Bought twin XL mattresses since the AS twins are longer than normal. Only had to trim the rounded corner. Then left the rest as normal. Mattresses are way more comfortable than the original.
