We had a local upholstery supplier provide the commercial grade foam, the heaviest of 4 choices. They cut the curve, glued a small extension to a non-impact side of one cushion and glued the Dacron slip surface to the top of each foam piece.
We opted to have the experts do the job instead of trying to cut the long curve ourselves. The cost was $474 which included $60 labor.
It is an amazing improvement. I can sit and work at my laptop without backaches. We're impressed at the increase in leg support from the firmer cushion edge.
Yes.....Airstream should step up and outfit their "premium" travel trailers with dinette/office cushions that don't kill you back.
I should also add that the sheet available to us was 40x72 inches. The two cushions just fit within that dimension, with a 2 by 12 inch extension glued to one back corner.
