TV antenna, the only thing we've never used. If we want entertainment we watch a movie.

For me its:
1.The puck light at the head of the bed. It shines like a spot light right in your eyes while you are reading. The other little light on both sides of the bed, the ones with the little shades, are cut but usless.

2.The comode sprayer. Not enough pressure to wash anything down except maybe papper.

3. The cook top igniter. Does not work most of the time. They did not work on the other two RVs we've owned either.

TV antenna isn't useless at all! It fills the hole in the roof and keeps out the rain!

On a 16' Bambi (2012): who designed combining the front curbside leveler with the step? Is it just us or is that the most bizarre set up when trying to crank it up and down???

Yesss! I have to put it up toward the sky to get the crank in there. Very clunky!

This is a great thread and shows how different we all are in our tastes and how we use our Airstreams. I would hate to be without my stove igniter, I pack so most of my clothes are hanging, and I'd LOVE to have an outdoor shower (I mostly boondock on my own land, and it'd be great to have that much gray water just go on the ground). Some folks love their television and antenna, others never use it ... in lotsa' ways, the designers have come up with coaches that work pretty well for almost everyone, given how many different types of usage there are!

water flush cap

Another useless item on my Stream is the black plastic cap that is supposed to plug the flush water intake when not in use. It is so loose it won't stay fastened. The tension on the plastic loop which holds in on pushes it out from the opening. Very poor, cheap design. They might as well have saved the money and just left it open for all the good it does. Maybe I can find an old wine cork somewhere.

Yup...so we replaced ours with one like on the fresh water port ... that screws on... no problems now.

Good idea, TB. Been wondering what to do about that. Getting tired looking in the mirror and seeing it flap in the breeze. Until then, Rich's "wine cork" idea may have to do.

Yes, an excellent idea. I didn't realize it would fit there. Where did you get it?

Ours used to flap in the wind too until it was replaced with a screw cap under warranty.

Positive-Negative

Great! All the "negatives" have given me "positive" ideas about what to keep, change or get rid of in our Caravel project. Thanks.

We had it replaced under warranty by Oasis in Tucson ... you should be able to get it anywhere you get Airstream parts...and it may not even be Airstream-specific...

Depends on what model you buy. The inner spring mattress in our Classic is pretty decent.

We use a threaded end from an inexpensive screw in plastic male plug ... cut the floppy one loose near the insert and punch a hole in the remaining "strap" to accommodate the stud on the new male screw in plug ... all we could find, however, was a white plug ... cost: $2-3.

I just put a couple wraps of back electrical tape around the "threaded" end of the plug and it hold nicely. The extra pressure created keeps it in place and I haven't had any trouble for 4 years.

I looked over some 2013's recently and they had a screw-in plug from the factory. I suppose you could get one from dealer parts.

Our 2007 had a phone jack but I don't think our new one does.
