International With Twin Beds

Can you order an International Serenity 25FB with twin beds instead of the queen? I see you can get the Flying Cloud with twins.

Twin beds are not a standard option in any International Series. At one time I was told they could do that conversion for close to $4k. I believe the unit would be built with the queen and converted in the service center. Thus the higher cost.

Also the 2016 Classic model now offers the twin option. We have the twin option in our 2014 31' Classic.

Yes. Someone on here said that there was a 3500 buck extra charge for twins in the Internationals.

There was a $2500 charge for twins in our 2015 Eddie Bauer 27 (which is technically an International). It was built with twins in the original production pass, not converted by Airstream after initial production. (Someone posted here a few months ago that, with the expanded production facilities, all units could be ordered as twins, but I've never heard that collaborated.) Best, Joe

Why would they charge so much? I could see a nominal charge since it's not a standard option of say $500, but not $2500 to $3500.

My International Serenity 30 with twin is being built in the next two weeks. All work completed at the factory. I cant remember the additional cost but I think around $1,500. The standard queen size has a small window at the rear, flanked by closet/lockers. When the twin is built it has the panoramic window which is much more expensive to produce.

Check with your dealer as they are making some changes on the 2016.5. We ordered a 28 International Signature last year which wasn't offered in a Twin, when the dealer checked on custom pricing for this they were told Airstream is adding Twins as an option to many units this year.

We placed our order with no additional costs. I believe our build dates is the third week of April.

Thanks, so much. Sounds like they are now making twins available on the International. The 25FB already has panoramic windows, so maybe the up charge will be minimal.

Thinking back, it's possible I wasn't charged either. I think it's a great option which will add a lot of roominess to the trailer, plus a better night's sleep!

I'm not sure why Airstream doesn't offer twin beds for the International models like the Flying Cloud. I think they would be very popular.

We have a 2015 International with twin rear beds and love it. It gives you more sleeping area and opens up the floor plan. Our dealer ordered this configuration from the factory along with 16" wheels and michelin tires.

Twins to queen

Here is something that may be of interest for the debate, twins or queen.
We were looking for a good used 25 with a queen. Instead we found a good one with twins and decided we would research converting to queen.
I am in the yacht business and many of our large charter boats have the option of a bedroom being able to be twins or king. That is how our AS now works.
We keep a piece of HD plywood under each bunk when in twin mode. When it is time to convert, we take the top of table in between beds and set it in the floor. Then take plywood, turn each piece sideways between bunks and move bunks to middle. Tie a large kayak strap around both bunks, snug tight and you have close to a king size bed. If you want it perfect, get a long t-shaped piece of foam and put it in the crack between bunks.
This takes five minutes to set up and you have the best of both worlds.

International 25FB with Twin Beds

We ordered a 2015 International Serenity 25FB with twin beds. It's a nice floor plan. Cost about $2K to $3K extra. It offers extra outside storage compartments under each bed as well as under bed storage. And it fits well with the panoramic windows. The combined aisle between the beds is great.

Wow, I learn so much more from this forum than the Airstream website.

We love the twin beds in our 2014 Classic. The cross frame queen just did not work for us in the 2013 25FB International Serenity. Thus the upgrade and we took care of the two footitis issue all at once.

Just a note to this thread, we just purchased a 2017 27fb twin signature. No extra charge and this is now a standard model. Best use of space if you ask me.
