How to hold the door at 90* position
As you all know, the 28 has the largest windows on the same side as the entry door. When fully open, the door covers up 3/4 of the dinette window. I am looking for a fix/add-on to hold the door stationary in the 90 degree position. Ideas anyone?

It is called a brace
Hi there,
We had the same unit as you did and Can-Am came up with a great solution for us. They put a bracket on the bottom edge of the door and one on the side of the trailer just above the rub rail. Insert one end of the awning rod into the door bracket and the other end of the rod on the trailer side. Simple solution and worked great for the 6 years we had the trailer.
Sorry I don't have a picture, but I am sure Can-Am can send you the parts and maybe a diagram.

I had a 2012 28' Intl CCD. I never, ever opened the window behind the door. While I liked all the light, the thought of opening it with the door interference was too intimidating. Some kind of doorstop would be a good fix. I'm not sure I would have trusted it, though. Then comes the issue of how you could keep it open. An engineering challenge to be sure.

We had one of the very early 25FB's with the rear hinged door. On those units Airstream provided a hook that held the door at 90 degrees so that it wouldn't hit the awning rod.
Here are a couple of photos of the hook.

How to hold the door at 90* position
That looks nice, but how much wind can it handle? My rig has a similar problem, and we never open that window for fear of hitting it with the door.

That was one of the reasons we traded our 2012 28' International after less than a year to a 30'. That and the size of the lav.
The 28' really is only a 27' where as the 30' the actual coach measures 30'.

I planned to use a hook and found these:

http://horse-trailers-for-sale.com/c...spx?itemid=113
I don't know why it happened, but we had the door open and the furnace running. Seems like that wouldn't be a problem, but for some reason, it was. I was concerned that the exhaust would damage the clear coat. I never got around to buying and installing them, but you could position the eyelet on the door in a position to set almost any angle, I think.

many thanks to all of you. The marine hook idea seems easy to do and completely solves the problem. In passing, we chose the 28 because it has the windows on the door side and is shorter actually than a 27. The reason we like the window on the awning side is that we put an arm on the dinette television and swivel it so that, with the window open, we can watch things like the US Open or the SuperBowl from the comfort of our outdoor chairs.

oh, just remembered and went out and double checked: on the 28 there are no utility vents on the door side hence no potential issue between door open and furnace running.
